I only go about 10-12 times a year, but the WORST day I had at the resort in the past year was a weekday afternoon in October that was incredibly crowded and hot (high 90's). I'm pretty good with crowds and heat, summer doesn't bother me too much, but we only stayed 45 minutes. It was horrible. For all the Sept.-Oct. questions lets see what happens this fall. I think all bets are off.

I have quite a few friends who went last year during that time... and while I wouldn't even consider it... if you are someone who went on New Years and thought it wasnt too bad, then you should be fine. It shouldnt be any busier than new year.Originally Posted by lindamia
Hi all, I should first apologize for this post--I tried doing a search for "Thanksgiving" within this thread, but I repeatedly got error messages saying I had to wait 65 seconds between searches (and this was my first search, so not sure why I got that message).
Anyway, I want to go to Disneyland for Thanksgiving Weekend (Thursday-Saturday), but it seems like most people say it's too busy then and would be best to go another time. I took my niece for New Year's Weekend (3-day hopper), and I've heard that that is Disney's busiest time. When we were there, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Maybe crowds don't bother me as much? I remember several rides having wait times 60 mins or longer, but we managed to get on all the rides we wanted to, even getting on Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion several times in a row. It was even easier at DCA. I had heard that Disney would stop allowing people to come in at a certain time, but as far as I knew, that didn't happen while we were there and we took breaks at our hotel each day.
I'd love to hear from anyone who was at Disney for Thanksgiving Weekend in 2009--how long wait times were, were you ever unable to get back into the park after taking a midday break, etc. I'd love to take my nephews that weekend but if it's really that bad I guess we could go the following weekend. Just means the boys would have to miss 1-2 days of school (I'm sure they'll be heartbroken at that idea

They will be about the same.
the weekend will be busy, but the week days should be a little slower. October has been hit and miss with the crowd guessing... Even a busy day in October is nothing like a busy day in the summer.
OH WAIT, I know gay days is in the beginning of October. I dont know the exact dates but you can google it.
I dont know about today, but yesterday was off the chart busy! Roger Rabbit had a 70 minute wait. Who waits that long for that ride??

The parks are packed.. Busy busy busy. Sunday will be bad.

I only want to go to see world of color, but if its packed should i even bother?
You need a FP to see it so you'd have to be there early. The rest of the day would just be trying to get the most out of ride Fastpasses in order to keep busy till showtime.
Which day this week will be the least busiest? Please dont say all the same. I was thinking Tuesday?
Monday/Tuesdays are usually the best days to go over a larger averaged time. Some weeks Wednesday/Thursdays are decent, but I've found you can't really ever go wrong with a Monday/Tuesday.
However the next two Monday/Tuesdays should be nice because So Cal Select, and So Cal passes are still blocked, and LA County, and OC County both starts school this Monday and next.
So if theory proves right, these next two weeks should be slowing down a lot (especially since Summer Nightastic ends next Sunday I believe). PLUS, a majority of elementary/middle/junior high schools in CA have started, or are starting school this week.
Desires should not be hindered, no matter how difficult life might appear to be.
If you fail, don't cease; keep going, keep trying.

Re: When will it be busy at Disneyland - 2010 Edition I also am curious about these dates (September 17-22 for me) and how the crowds die down after Labor Day? I know when we did Disney World in late September/October, the crowds were thin (save for the Food and Wine Festival), but I was wondering how the local pass holders effect the attendance. Thanks for any info!!!
