Disneyland Vs. Walt Disney World Splash Mountain

In walt disney world the cars for splash mountain are rows where your party is all in one row instead of one person in front of the other. While Space Mountains cars in walt disney world are exactly like our space mountain where one person sits in front of the other which I actually like there designs better in walt disney world.... What are your thoughts on this?

I think that row seating is always better than in-line seating. Also, on the WDW Splash Mt, I did notice you get less wet (not sure why, but I went on it three times and barely got wet, once at DLR and totaly soaked). I can't really compare Space Mt's because I have yet to experience WDW's for myself.

Disneyland has better music, but Floridas ride system and vehicles beat ours out.

I prefer WDW. I found the ride a lot smoother at WDW than at Disneyland.

Re: Disneyland Vs. Walt Disney World Splash Mountain

    DL's came in 1989.
WDW's is second generation, as it came in 1992.
And the differences go beyond the logs.

I prefer WDW's logs. Much more comfortable to DL's. A dedicated seat .. to sitting on a bench .. much nicer.

    Next .... the ride itself.
Once you enter the main show building .. the logs traverse around slower. You are able to catch more detail. DL's practically races through.

The lighting in WDW's is brighter .. and the sets are more colorful. Disneyland's .. a bit on the "dingy" "dark" side.

The final drop. Because of space constraints .. DL's angle is sharper to make it down soon enough before it hits the Rivers of America. WDW's more spacious layout .... the angle is not quite as "nerve wracking" for me. I always tense up at DLs. Yet ... I can ride others where the degree of the drop is less severe ... and is more enjoyable.

WDW's "Second Generation" version wins out .. by very design that it was the second one built. (They improved on the original at DL.)

The one time I rode Splash Mountain at WDW, I got soaked by a rogue water cannon. My log was going towards the second lift, and a jet of water leapt out of the Briar Patch and hit me. Ironically, I did not get wet(ter) on the big drop.

The reason why Disneyland logs travel faster is because the generation 4 logs are back heavy and will bottom out. Disneyland Splash mountain is about 1 minute faster than it was back in 2006 because of the new logs.

I find WDW's story to be better told better, but our drops are alot better.

I give the edge a tad bit extra credit to WDW over ours.

I know exactly what this- and I too have been soaked by this. It's the number one thing to look out for- and there's no stopping it if you land on it either. You're drenched :/

I think WDW has a great version of Splash Mountain.

BUT... I do prefer the single row logs of Disneyland because of all the scenes on either side of the logs, you can see it all easily.

I like the DLR version of Splash the best. I thought the music was better sounding, I liked the single log ride because it felt more like a "log" to me and like the person above me said, you can see both sides. And I got a whole lot less wet on the DLR version compared to the WDW version. My Dad claims that WDW stole his hat because it flew off on the ride....I say that he was going down a steep water decline and should have taken his hat off in the first place.

Does WDW have a single rider line for Splash??? I used it once at DLR but didn't have a need to even look for one at WDW.

Wow, i had the opposite. I always get DRENCHED on Disneyland's Splash. Not that bad on WDW's.

Funny story, last time I was on WDW's Splash, the guy in the front of the log had his hat fly off his head. I had ninja quick reflexes and caught it! He was all "i lost my hat!" And then I presented it to him.

Unfortunately for me, the Yeti from Everest stole my hat a few days later.
