Smile Planning our Trip for May 16-26 but.....HELP!!!

Hey folks.... please help out an old micechatter here.

We cannot find any information about:

    A) Ride Closures

We are there from May 16 - 26 but thats felxible. Disney's site does not go that far in advance. Can anyone help? We would hate to go and our favorites be closed.

    B) Special Events like Grad Nights or Other "Avoidable Crowded Events"

We always try to avoid grad nights or other local promotions (No, offense... love you locals!) that overcrowd the park. But again... Disney's website says nothing.

    So...ummm... HELP!

Re: Planning our Trip for May 16-26 but.....HELP!!!

Here's something that might help you

May and June, Grad Nites and the return of Summer Nightasmic!

Now weekdays in May should be fairly quiet, with the exception of the Captain EO and World of Color fans showing up to see the shows. Weekends should be busy as always, though only Premium AP holders will be able to attend on Saturdays.

Grad Nites got moved back a week this year, partially in response to more schools take more vacation time during the year (such as the week of January 4th, going back to the top of the article). Here are the dates...

    Thursday, May 20th

    Thursday, May 27th

    Thursday, June 3rd

    Thursday, June 10th

    Wednesday, June 16th

    Thursday, June 17th

    Thursday, June 24th

Note, Disneyland Park has to close no later than 9 PM, and California Adventure at 7 PM on the dates mentioned to allow set up and preparations of the events.

This will do a few things, for those wanting to see World of Color, the new water show at DCA, you won't be able to see it any of the days listed, due to the special Blast Off events that are being offered on all Grad Nite this year. Heck, the first 2 dates have already been sold out at DCA. (And May 27th is already sold out for both the main Grad Nite and the Blast Off event).

For the Disneyland dates in May, Disneyland closes at either 8 or 9 PM on weekdays, so no change there.

But in June, Disneyland can stay open until 11 PM, so you will have an early closure on the days mentioned.

The Magic Morning Early Entry offering will not be offered on Thursday, June 17th due to the one Wednesday Grad Nite.

This might be the BEST days to go to the parks, since there will not be a World of Color show, especially in May.

Of course, you have the Memorial Day weekend, with extra blockout days for most AP holders.

Then in June, the parks will start to expand hours, bring back shows like Fantasmic! as part of the popular Nightastic! promo offered last summer.

So that is a look at the next few months, and as you can tell, Disney is reaching one of their goals, to keep the park busy year round.

I'm also planning a trip in May, the 23-28th. There shouldn't be any ride closures when you go, with the exception of the ROA might still being closed and therefore TSI being closed as well. May is still an off-season so there won't be as many people, but with the WOC opening in April, there may be heavy crowds during the show. Other than that, I think it's still a good time to go. Lighter crowds are always nice
