    Huge crowds at Disneyland

Is it just my imagination, or are the crowds WAY bigger than normal for the Fall season? We were there last night (Friday night), and there were so many people crammed into Disneyland that it seemed like a summer weekend. It's hard to enjoy the park when it's mobbed like this. Does anyone know what's going on?

    Re: Huge crowds at Disneyland

I agree with you that it's felt like summer crowds recently. Could be solely due to the marketing of the 50th. They've had larger than normal crowds throughout the celebration, so it wouldn't surprise me.

Maybe Oprah wrecked it for all of us MCers...JK. Dunno, I don't think it's just because of the marketing...I think there are other reasons afoot as well.

I think it's the internets fault. People ask when the off season is to avoid the crowds and they find out and spread the word. Problem is now alot of people are going in the off season to avoid crowds, but it makes it just as crowded....LOL...

    Re: Huge crowds at Disneyland

I just got home from California today. Yesterday was so crowded. This is the first time I've been to Disneyland in the off season, whoops! I mean "off season" since 1990. It looked jsut like summer. DCA had pretty short lines during the day, but DL was crowded. Luckily, we waited 10 min for POTC, 25 min for HMH, and 25 or so min for Splash. They were still distributing Fastpass tickets for Indy at 6 pm.

I don't know if anybody went Thursday, but the crowds were moderate. The longest line I had to wait in was 20 min. (Splash and Indy) and I got to fastpass Space twice. They also announced on the PA and in the Monorails that DL was now closing at 9 instead of 8!

I was there yesterday too. I got there at 6 pm since I had school that day, it was really crowded but I managed to do almost everything I wanted, you just have to know when to get a fastpass and for which rides. I went on splash mountain 4 times (single rider), POTC (during fantasmic, so I got to have my own boat since the line was so short), HM(the only full line I actually had to wait in), Indiana Jones and BTMR w/ fastpasses, Matterhorn, jungle cruise, and Mr. Toad and Alice right before closing. I also had enough time to watch Remember (I saw the projections on IASM for the first time). I would have been able to get in line for Space Mountain before closing but I was too tired, and it's boring to wait in long lines by myself.

Wish I could say one way or another. I haven't been since April. I'm going into withdrawls.

DCA busy? That IS crazy. DL has been real busy this fall. I expected it to be a bit busier with the 50th, but to see it be this consistently busy this late into the Fall is a little bit of a surprise.

50th promotion combined w/ steady convention tourism is probably adding to the great gates/crowds. Here's a sampling of upcoming conventions, can't wait to stand in DLR lines with the American Urological Association!

It's great that the park is doing well, of course. However, my time there will be short in November (a few hours over 2 days, instead of 2 full day). I was hoping for lighter crowds.

I bet because of how busy it's been this year, it will be practically dead next year!! (my hope!)
