From the project tracker:
I am glad I recorded a trip inside that elevator. Like Disneyland, the Hotel will always be evolving and changing. New names, new buildings, new pools......it will be ever changing. At least we have our memories of how it used to be. Speaking of which, here you go..........
Here are some images from Saturday, January 16:
Notice the elevator car itself is still in place.
on saturday i asked a CM about this (the guy who stands on the back of the tram). he said they wernt sure but they were told it was being replaced with a new glass elevator.
I'll miss that elevator. Not that I ever rode it, but it helps me pinpoint the room I stayed in on one of my best ever DL trips. We asked the front desk if we could have a room with a view, and they said they'd give us one free of charge, however, the elevator was slightly blocking the view. We said that was ok, since it was a free upgrade anyway. When we got to the room, we realized that the elevator only blocked the view slightly, on the very ride side of the window, and the only thing it blocked was my view of DCA. YAY! lol
Any updates to the long term status of this elevator?
great, the Tower I stayed in on my first trip to DL is being demolished...........
That really does suck. I really loved the views when riding it up to the club.
I had heard "removed" as opposed to "refurbished" as well, but we shall see. The DLH CMs were certainly sad to be breaking the news to me.
The elevator just crossed into...............The Twilight Zone.
Tonights story of the Tower of Terror is somewhat unique and calls for something different. This is what you may recognize as a glass elevator from Disneyland. Still in operation, waiting for you. We invite you if you dare to step aboard because in tonights episode, you are the star. And this elevator goes into.......The Twlight Zone.
Well, I'll believe it when I see it...
