Red Face ROA update question please

I will admit it, somehow some where along the lines I missed the information regarding ROA and when it will be returning to its former watery glory? A nakeeeed ROA is rather sad looking, really.

    TIA

The river is down for cleaning, maintenance, and some plussing (adding back in AAs along the river to give it a more wild feel) compliments of Tony Baxter.

Good to know, thank you all! I am looking forward to seeing it again, at some point this year.

question: where does all the water go? Do they have holding tanks or do they let it go to the sewer? I wonder how much it would cost for all the water that's needed to refill it again if they do have to do it from scratch.

They drained it just like they drained the Paradise Bay. The water is sent to the city for it to be cleaned naturally through ground percolation where it goes back into the wells which feed back into the city's water supply. Recycling!
I believe that is how it was done. There was a video about that somewhere.

Nothing concrete yet. But there is an "unofficial" ROA project tracker thread here:

It first gets sent to the Orange County Sanitation District about 10 miles south in Fountain Valley. This is where the sewage is treated for Orange County before going into the ocean.

After the water gets treated there it gets sent to special wells that supply the city of Anaheim. It is waiting there until the ROA is ready to be refilled.

The water that is in these wells needs to be treated at the sanitation district first because these are specialized wells designed to handle reclaimed waste water for drinking. In a few months after the ROA project is done, these wells will be used to store clean drinking water pumped directly from the sanitation district. Delicious!

We were there in February, and it looked pretty much like all the photos in the Official ROA Tracker thread mentioned earlier.
