People come from all over the WORLD to go to Disneyland, not just locals. People plan their trips months in advance. Besides... Disneyland in a storm is awesome.

I am actually headed that way right now, the rain has cleared up & the attendance rate is low, so it should be a good time.

i'm looking at the time you posted this, and yes at that time we had some very very teeny tiny hail, but it only lasted for a minute. after that some more rain for about 3 minutes, but now it hasn't rained since

Some people say that Disneyland is empty when it rains. Not when I'm there. I will stay no matter what because rain is essential to driving everyone out of the park so that I can walk on attractions.

Re: Disneyland to close early due to heavy rains

On ABC news this evening they made a comment that Disenyland was closing early due to so much rain.

I like Disneyland in the rain too, but when it's also windy and cold, I end up soaked and miserable

That one part of the ride, near the end with the dinosaur bones, has always been flooded. Every time I ride through, there's a splash! So what's the big deal?

I was waiting to be unloaded at Autopia and got stuck in the pouring rain. Not enough guests were there to hop in and drive away cars at the load area. Took about 15 minutes before I was able to hop out and head for shelter.
Disneyland looked like it was drowning today but it was fun.

Re: Disneyland to close early due to heavy rains

I haven't been to Disneyland when it rains - except once a couple of years ago when it started to rain lightly in the evening (around 8pm) and they cancelled Fantasmic.

I went to Knott's a few weeks ago, during our last storm - when we got to the parking lot, the attendee (after taking our money and handing us our parking ticket) told us that if it rained a lot, the park may close early. Note - there was also signs posted that if the park closed due to weather, you could not get a refund on parking.

I asked what "early" meant and he said that if it was heavy rain for a good amount of time, they would close then. But, as the skies were clearing and the sun was beginning to peek through, he said the weather was probably going to be fine.

It did continue to rain off and on throughout the day. We rode Bigfoot Rapids twice in a row because there literally was only one other group of people riding - after we exited the ride, the cast member closed up the entrance gate. We stayed until about 5pm or so. I felt very bad for all of the employees who had to sweep up the water collecting everywhere. On the other hand, they are generally (always?) hourly employees so if the park closes, then they don't work and they don't get paid...

Not sure how these parks inform visitors (and potential visitors) about closures. I just knew (from visiting this site and others) that these parks may close so I kept checking the weather reports & Knott's twitter feed and hoping that the weather wouldn't be too bad by the time we got there.

(Side note: Knott's only closes for Christmas - that's the only day they close, aside from inclement weather, that is).
