I got there around 6:30 or so... there were a LOT more people than I had expected. Space Mountain was about a 15 minute wait... not bad, but not just "walking on" like people have been doing all week. Big Thunder was like a 25 minute wait. Screw that. We just went around the park on the train, and left just as the park was closing. We wanted to go on Indy but assumed it was a long wait as well.
Then on the way to the parking lot, we saw why the crowds were so big... some idiots decided to bring a HUGE group of people for the day, there were about 8 school buses and 5 charter buses sitting in the Pinnochio lot, and a large group of students and other people getting on the buses. Most of the students were wearing blue jackets for a flag corps type of thing... so maybe they were having a competition out here or something.
We spent from 4-8 there. It was so nice. Indy was a 15 minute wait, not bad. Toy Story maybe 10 minutes. Beautiful rainbows! We ate at an almost empty Cafe Orleans, shared a Monte Cristo. The gates were up at the DTD parking lot, so we drove in, did our returns from Christmas, went to check out the parks, ride a few rides, eat, do a little more shopping and went home. It was not empty, thats for sure.
I arrived at Disneyland around 6pm yesterday and the rides were “crowded” but everything else was pretty much empty. It was nice walking around and not bumping into people, but I really wish Disneyland didn't close at 8pm yesterday.
