This thread is a continuation of my ideas for alternate Magic Kingdom-type parks. For the backstory, see the previous thread: Disney's Journey Around the World
This one’s a bit more radical than the last one: Disney’s Magic Museum. Its inspired primarily (not in terms of story, just concept) by the Night at the Museum film series, in which there is an ancient Egyptian tablet that brings everything in the museum to life at night. In this museum, all of the rides are exhibits that have come to life, some inspired by famous Disney rides.
I haven’t really gotten as far as I had with the last one this time, so I can only list attractions:
Pirates of the Caribbean – nothing that special here
Big Thunder Mine – inspired by the signature exhibit at Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry. You will be guided into an abandoned mine, but when you board the old, dilapidated mine train, you soon find yourself racing through the tunnels and around the mountain.
Mine Train to Nature’s Wonderland – an exhibit about American animals
Soaring – This one is almost completely different than the original. The “exhibit” is about old airplanes. When you board one, you soon discover that this plane still flies! Out your window, you’ll see famous landmarks from around the world. (On this, you can get two different experiences, since the left side has a different view than the right)
Planetarium Mountain – actually Space Mountain
Dinosaur – an EMV experience similar to DAK’s
It’s a Small World – an “exhibit” about other world cultures
Hall of Presidents – an exhibit about American History
Carousel of Progress
Autopia – an exhibit of classic cars
Submarine Voyage – aquarium. NOT Finding Nemo.
Train – an exhibit about railroads
Adventure through Inner Space – re-designed with more modern technology
Indiana Jones – This exhibit will claim to have artifacts found and donated by Dr. Jones himself. However, the artifacts are cursed: you will go back to the 30’s when Indy found the artifacts and meet your fate.
Jungle Cruise – exhibit about animals of Africa
Body Wars – exhibit about anatomy
A castle – exhibit about medieval stuff
Western River Expedition – exhibit on the history of American expansion
Again, feel free to leave comments and questions, and I will answer them as soon as I can!
