Re: BEST WOC testing EVER Videos! Testing with COLOR. OMG!

Last night i posted a dubbed video in the project tracker that takes the first video from last night and syncs it with the music. It matches up for the first half but the second half obviously uses music that is at a higher tempo, but the blue rolling sea, red summer rose, and morning sun in the sky definitely match up!

When in doubt, check the DCA project tracker. That and several other amazing videos have been posted in the last few days.

Re: World Of Color - Testing Videos (Merged Threads)

Copied from the DCA tracker thread for the benefit of those who chose not to wade through it:

Friday night I had my camcorder with me to video the Aladdin show. There was an announcement that they had extended the hours of DCA until 10 PM. DCA really was very busy for much of the day. Or maybe they're trying to make up for all the rainy days when they shortened the hours. Well anyway, the extra hour allowed me to finally see some live testing.

    Disclaimers:

    • The testing I saw wasn't that exciting.
    • I shot parts at 30 frames/sec and other parts at 24 frames/sec while manually operating the exposure. And then there's the issue of 3:2 pulldown and inverse telecine which I didn't do, yada yada yada. Please ignore the jaggies and exposure issues in the video.
    • This is my first attempt at YouTubing and I'm not sure I prepped the file properly.
    • I was handholding the camcorder after taking a Nodoz pill. Bad idea!

So anyway, the video has lots of unnecessary jaggies and isn't that exciting. But if you have too much time on your hands then it may be worth a look.

Re: World Of Color - Testing Videos (Merged Threads)

I think it is finally time to step up and throw in my few videos. Sorry for the poor quality and the annoying kid talking (**ahem, that's me talking on the phone, btw). Anyway the first video shows a quick demo of one of the LED rings on a single fountain. Just a quick color snap.

The second video is a close up of one of the caps closing (where the Syncrolites are housed) on the projector lighthouse.

This last video is my most exciting: It has a ground view of the Syncrolites. The video demonstrates all the points used in the opening (or is it closing?) sequence. This is how a lot of lighting programmers make the ballyhoo (swinging around) effects, as the program will smoothly hit all the points. You can also see home position on the top syncros and the bottom ones at pan:0 and tilt:270.

(I'm rather behind, as I filmed all of these on 12/18/09!)

Pure magic. The audio sync of the Disney WOC theme song sent tingly shivers down my spine.

Looking at this makes me so much more excited!! It's going to end up being a amazing show that has never been done anywhere before.
