    Splash Mountain front-seat restriction?

Last time I was there it was a "temporary" 60" height restriction for the front-seat of the log. I understand that restriction is still in place. So it probably is not referred to as "temporary" anymore?

So you have to be 60 inches or taller to sit in the front?
    Yaye!

It's a tight fit up there. I am 5'11 and had my knees almost against my chest. But when I went on it a kid was going to sit in front and they told him and his dad who was behind him to switch so I assume the rule is still in place.

My girlfriend is 4'11", but I guess she looks shorter, so I know from all the times shes tried that you have to be at lest 5 feet.

Why is it temporary? Is it a maximum height limit?

    We're talking about Disneyland right?

I knew there was a rule about the front row, but I didn't know it was based on height because I have seen little kids sit in the front before. I always assumed it had to do with weight because it was the really small ones, or a little kid with another little kid behind them, in the front when the cast members said that a bigger person had to be in the front.

Ha I've ridden solo in logs by myself in the front and I am a pretty big guy. Front seat on splash is probably the scariest seat on any ride at the resort.

Kids like to hide under the front seat overhang on the large drop. Then they hit their heads when it stops suddenly and the parents blame Disneyland.

Well this is what happens in the opposite situation. I've been by myself too and I'm a bit smaller than the average person, and the log didn't seem to have enough momentum going down the hill to get the water to splash up past the log. :P

Well, this is back in the day but when I was like 4 years old I rode in the front(this is back when it was just the open log, no seat backs) My aunt did not hold on to me as tightly as she should have and I smacked my head on the bar thing. (I actually had an imprint of the little logo thing on my forehead).

Long story short it was my aunt's fault not the ride/disneyland... I don't know when it happened but it seems in the last decade nothing is anyone's fault anymore, some one else is always to blame.

    Re: Splash Mountain front-seat restriction?

Two summers ago my wife and I were tip toeing through gator country and the ride comes to a stop just before the climb. Where there for about few minutes a cast member pops out of a door and re seats the people in the boat in front of us. A kid was in front and they moved him back in the log, and then of course he did not want to move and the parents did not want him to so they argued with the CM. I of course was no longer in my laughing place chimed in with some constructive criticism for the parents and to aide the CM and we were back on our way.
The kid was laughing and happy at the end of the ride, the parents were still bitchy. So yea I can see people blaming DLR.

    Re: Splash Mountain front-seat restriction?

I believe the started this in September of 09, we rode it, and the next weekend we went on it again and my 11 year old was told he could not sit in front and we would have to switch seats, he said but I have before and they said new rule. So of course I got soaked when I would never have sat in the front!!

These are actually different logs from that time.
