Re: Disney's California Food and Wine Festival - April 16 to May 31, 2010

I went 2 years ago and loved it!

I didn't go last year because of the price increase, and regretted my decision the entire year.

No way, I am missing it this year.

It really is an amazing event. Also, the people at this event are super nice. I would encourage everyone to go.

I have a couple of questions about this event.

Do you have to buy a ticket one of the special events to participate or are there smaller events that are free with admission?

Also my husband is a beer enthusiast, he brews his own beer at home, and I was reading about a beer walk on the Disneyland website and was wondering how that works. Do I need to purchase a special ticket in advance for something like that?

Any other helpful information for a first timer would be great. I think we're mostly interested in getting an overview type experience. Thanks in advance!

I'm desperately waiting for my next paycheck so I can get tickets for at least one of the Sweet Sunday events and the wine tasting seminar.

How will the event work this year with the winery out of commission? Should be interesting.

Food and Wine begins April 16th and the Winery re-opens on the 27th so it'll be just a little over a week into the festival when it re-opens.

Mhmm. Thats what I mean. Seems odd that they will start the event in a temporary fashion, and then overnight move it all into the winery. I just wonder how that will logistically go down.

Isn't the western section of the winery open? That is usually where they hold the event.

Ahhh, yes I see. Well I'm new to Food and Wine so I'm not really sure how it will all go down.

I hope this isn't a silly question but its me and my boyfriends anniversary on the 5th of May and we will be staying down there (hopefully!).. can anyone give me more info on what exactly happens during this time? I won't be buying any special tickets for shows but I can still experience it, right? Can anyone elaborate on the 1.00 ticket admission part? Sorry if this is vague, I'm heading to bed!

There are food demo's through out the day for free. They are very fun. The beer and wine tasting is free to but for the first year they are charging a dollar for the wrist bands. You must have a wrist band to enter.
