Thumbs down Foreign park maps INCREDIBLY outdated.

I went to DCA yesterday and took some pictures with my new camera, and while I was standing by Ariels Grotto, I noticed a Japanese couple, standing there struggling with a park map, so I peeked over their shoulder and saw the old Sun Wheel. I thought that was strange, so I went over to the information kiosk in Sunshine Plaza and grabbed a Japanese map and they had maps from 2008. That is really unacceptable. When you consider that they practically update the US maps every 6 months to a year, there is no reason the foreign maps shouldn't be as well.

As far as I know the Disneyland map looks okay, it's just the DCA map that needs MAJOR updating.

Have you used the disneyland virtual resort map online, DCA is nowhere near up to date, it doesn't even mention TSMM

why I think they should stop printing maps and have a kiosk (w/ all international language maps) instead.
This way all the information is up to date and will cut down on printing cost (ppl print only what they need).

They are just trying to save some money by making sure all the old maps are used up.

After that, they can offer new map with all the new attraction and stuffs.

That's not fair to the Japanese Tourists. The US map talks about SSS and Mickey's Fun Wheel, and TSMM, it's totally up to date. Why shouldn't the Japanese guests not have that? Are they less important than the American Tourists? That's just wrong when u consider the high number of tourist's from the Japan that go to DL.

Sounds to me that cost is playing a big part in this. They no doubt have a case full of 2008 Japanese maps that probably don't get taken that quick and so the justification of a re-print isn't there.

Doesn't mean its right though. Walt made sure everyone was treated equal in the Magic Kingdom.

Why am I eating leftover churros? All I know is maps are a sought after thing from Disneyland's past, and its not every day that a theme park is redone leaving the maps showing the old layout rarer. I guess it would be best to get them in English though. I wasn't really meaning that the foreign maps would be more "collectible".

Someone stated that outdated maps for foreign guests was like selling them the stale churros. I was just cracking a joke, Trevor.

This is particularly bad customer service given that the foreign tourists are both more likely to be unfamiliar with the park's layout to begin with and less likely to be able to just ask for directions or information.
