I actually find the 'Festival of Color' concept intriguing. Instead of having a hoard of guests queued up for an hour or more, then leading into the viewing area to stand around and wait even longer, growing ever more weary and irritable, why not give them a pre-show environment. Executed correctly, this could be an entertaining solution to keeping guest from losing their patience and add to the experience. Perhaps if they had thought of this more in advance, they could have re-appropriated the wasteful Redwood Creek Challenge Trail into something useful like this to keep from congesting any other section of the park.

90%? I'm not going to argue that.

Just like Disney's legal department: "likely to change without notice".

a company never wants to be seen as a failure, or one to make mistakes and especially with Disney, they want things as positive as possible. But I do agree, that one should own up to the mistakes one makes.

I'd like it, if it wasn't 1/2 way across the park. I personally think there could be better ways, but whatever works, works. Right?

WOW, that's GREAT news and it only took Disney several days to finally realize something we been saying months now and that is CLOSE THE FREAKIN PARK LATER!!!

But I'm glad they are finally closing the park at 11 pm now, at least for most of the summer I'm guessing. It WILL solve the WOC stuff a lot more and now people dont have to feel they have to be in a holding pen to see this show even if this festival of color thing really does go through. And if there is an 11:30 show you now dont have to sit in a closed park for over an hour just waiting for this thing to start but can actually enjoy the park until before lining up. Yeah its a great move. Not just for WOC but for people who just wants to enjoy the park longer at night time as well.

And that 6 p.m. closure is obviously some special event they got going on that day.

No offense dude, but what do you expect? This is the internet and an unofficial Disney fan board. I've always learned what drives boards like theres are 30% rumors/speculation 30% reviews/criticisms and 30% of actual concrete info (the last 10% is just off topic stuff or brow beating ). Even the tracking boards isnt going to have a wealth of news everyday. And honestly, there just ISNT that much news other than the latest steel photo gone up in TLM/Carsland or another WOC testing vid. Everything we TRULY need to know is on the first page of this thread anyway. So you use the other stuff to keep this board from being stale.

If we want strictly solid confirmed news with little speculation or opinion, we can just sign up to the Disney blog website and just wait for all the 'official' information peter out every few days/weeks. Of course not only will that be boring as sin, its BECAUSE of boards and educated speculation we are usually ahead of the curve of this stuff in the first place.

I learn a lot from posters here how this stuff actually works operationally and logistically more than any other place along with what may come out our way and why I enjoy coming here a lot more the last few months.

What exactly do you expect?? This is not the Disney Blog.

By the way the monthly columns by Al are pretty accurate.

Yes, I hope the extended hours are like that when I get down there! I love seeing the park at night, especially the Grizzly Peak area.

And if World of Color is gonna be this chaotic crowd nightmare like a lot of people here are putting it out to be, at least I can enjoy my favorite rides with shorter waits At least that's the upside to that... that is, if they crowds are gonna be that big.

My concern with Festival of Color is whether or not it will just ned up being a waste. Will people enjoy the offerings or will there just be a crowd of people queuing up to be taken to Paradise Park?

Significant amounts of what we know, and I am talking outside of Disney here, is based on trusting the source. You will never get proof regarding much of what is considered to be known.

Meh, he's right most of the time, I think. Something tells me that there is guesswork thrown in, but that's pretty much what someone has to do when there isn't solid proof.

Talking Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker IX

SNEAK PEEK!!!! soft opening for world of color might be scheduled for next week May 14th and 15th Friday and Saturday evening

    According to Screamscape:

Screamscape sources tell us that Disney management is talking about possibly putting on a few unannounced sneak peek performances of World of Color as early as May 14 & 15th. I’m told that the show install and programming is fairly solid at this point with nothing major expected to change from now on until the fall when they can start looking at doing the first “rehab” on the show to replace things that didn’t work out as expected, or fix anything major that gets damaged over the summer. Again, this is just something being talked about right now. More on this when things get closer and more locked down.
