Fit in with Victorian theme...you're right it doesn't however I got the impression PP is going more for the 1920's/1930's boardwalk/seaside architectural theme which was a mixture of many style so Art Deco would fit. I know the concept art was more boardwalk and victorian but idk I like the real version. I love how the pier has or is going to have such an eclectic mix of styles...makes it more interesting. TSMM is more victorian, TLM more world's fairsy(forgive me I'm not an architect major lol ), and then SSS and maybe even the Paradise Garden Art Deco. Even the model in Blue Sky Cellar has a moorish look for Princess Palace and the carousel cover being white and gold and kinda art deco.

I really like Lotso except he is a bit chubbier than I expected! I liket he new addition of him in PPP too.

Random but, do they have any plans to changs Monsters Inc facade, or do anything to it, in Phase 2 of DCA if Phase 1 is successful?

    Thank you Solitary!

Sounds about right. Like so much of the other areas they have designed in the past, the time period shifts around so it represent more then one specific time and period.

If there is one thing I learned watching the transformation of DCA and Imagineering at work, is that nothing is final till it's final. So even if we knew what they planned for phase 2, it could still be very different.

I like that they are keeping us on our toes with surprises like they have with the SSS. That is why I am excited about the Goofy make over of the wild mouse coaster since we have seen how the ride system does not always matter as much as the show itself (music, setting, lighting, etc.)

From a "include Ironman in the DLR" perspective, I'm with you! However, from a Ironman 2 makes a billion dollars worldwide and puts more money in the Disney empire coffers to further add more theme park fun, I'm all for it!

Looking at the Mermaid construction makes me wonder if it would make sense for the Triton carousel to relocate over there too...

Yeah, dude is packing the weight lol. They should take him off that truck and have him walk that parade route everyday instead. Stop being an enabler Disney!!!

As for Monsters Inc facade and phase 2, there's been little next to nothing talk about any of it. And I dont think there has even been rumors they will change the facade. But I'm guessing IF they decide to change that whole area to match with the 30's look, there might be some changes to have a uniform look to the area, but at the moment there havent been any rumors about it.

Re: Disney's California Adventure Project Tracker IX

Well I just checked the Disney calendar again and someone said earlier DCA's 11 pm closing was only for the first week of WOC opening and it looks like that might be the case as of Sunday on June 20th, it has dropped its hour back to 10 p.m.

Oh well who knows, it may go back up, but it looks like Disney is going to really push to keep it at 10 p.m. closings in the summer afterall. Late closings all summer like DL looks to be a pipes dream right now and that nightmare of a plan Lutz menetion for WOC sounds like a good bet if they do after hours shows.

Yeah, I like that idea too, although it obviously wont happen. I would like to see Jumpin Jellyfish there as well and that would obviously be more realistic to do with its smaller footprint.

If it were up to me, I wouldve made this one little mini-area with the ride and the supposed play area that's coming in and move both the carousel there and JJ renaming that with a specific character name. I think that wouldve been cool.

They should have the two JJ towers straddle the carousel near TLM. From the air, it would create a giant hidden mickey!
