I'm certain that ANaheim was already there when Disneyland was made, it just got bigger and more suburbanized cause of Disney.

Beyond Anaheim, Disneyland helped bring Orange County into the Southern California tourist arena. Without it, Orange county may have remained predominantly agricultural.

The city of Anaheim was founded almost a century before the opening of Disneyland.

The Community of Anaheim was established almost a century before the opening of Disneyland. Anaheim didn't really become an actual city until after Disneyland.

Anaheim was founded in 1857 and incorporated in 1870 and it's the oldest city in Orange County.

Aside from farmhouses and fields, what was near Disneyland before it was constructed? Sure it was a town, but I'm pretty sure it was pretty sparsely populated.

The had a little town before Disneyland. A fun little thing to do, at least I think it is. Go to Barnes and Noble and in California section they have series of books with pictures and history of certain cities and areas in California. They are Image America books by Arcadia Publishing. They have one for Anaheim and well they show you there was a small farming town well before Disneyland was in Anaheim.
