Loved the Segway tour at DCA (with pics)
The Segway tour is awesome! (Two thumbs up!) My two older sons and I took a little jaunt over to DCA this morning for some high tech fun.
They are a blast to ride and we were in the park before it opened so we felt just ever so slightly special (Not really, but it’s kinda cool).

Starting at 7:15 am in the Guest Relations offices in DCA we were greeted with muffins, fruit, hot coffee and some waiver forms. There were 10 of us all together in our group and two guides.

After some quick instruction and a couple of lame jokes, we were brought outside and walked over to the Monsters Inc area where our chariots awaited us.
A few more minutes of do and don’ts, we practiced riding them around, and played a game of “Mickey Says” (Like “Simon Says” – As usual, I was the first one out! I used to hate that game)

After we are all checked out for skills and safety gear we are on our way, we stoped at various locations for stories of Hidden Mickey’s tales of yore and to stretch our legs.
(I know, who knew you needed to stretch while riding a Segway…Safety FIRST!!!)

We roamed around the whole park for about an hour or so playing follow the leader, I even rode that darn thing through places I’ve never been. Eventually you wind up down at Paradise Pier, then wind back up through bugs land across the temporary access by Tower of Terror and Old Hollywood. Click! They took our picture (which is at least included in the tour – they didn’t hand us a Photopass card and tell us where to buy one)
and sent us on our way without a hand stamp.

Oh yeah, we got a cool pin too!
All in all, I highly recommend this tour because riding the Segway is fun and what better place to do something unique like that, than at DCA?
As a last note, I want to thank the guides (They know who they are) for making the tour so animated. They both had great outgoing personalities which created so much of the overall experience for us.

Cool pics! I want to ride a segway but I am afraid I would fall because everytime I see one I think of Arrested Development and start to crack up.

How fun! I've been wanting to go on a segway tour there for a good while now, you've got me looking into it again!

I've always wanted to do this, but when construction hit, I decided I would wait it out until things are done...
but now, I'm not sure if I can wait haha

I can imagine folks ridding the segway through Paradise Park, that would be cool.

Two things....The cost is $99 here is the link Disneyland Resort | Cruzin' Disney's California Adventure Park Tour
There is no sense of wanting to fall off of these things. They are a little strange but after getting used to them in about 2 minutes, you just want to let er rip!

Seaway costs on average about $6000 to $7000 each.
After 70 people have gone on this, this will be translated into pure profit for them.
