    Talking Owners of pacemakers rejoice!

Last week, I sent a message to the DLR about my pacemaker, asking if it was safe to ride all the rides, especially CS at DCA. Their reply was that all the rides at the DLR are safe for people with pacemakers and other medical devices like insulin pumps. They said that the danger threshold for pacemakers is 5 gauss, but none of their rides registered above one-and-a-half gauss. They also pointed out that there are many electric motors in the parks, but none of them are any more dangerous than a hair dryer or a vacuum cleaner.

So ride all you want. I'm keeping the message so if CS takes me out, we'll know that Disney said that I'd be safe.

I know someone with a pacemaker. Besides the electromagnetic issue (btw, what about Screamin'??) there is the jostle issue - that is, bouncing around could dislodge wires, though that is unlikely.

I have a pacemaker and have rode CS, nothing happened. As a matter of fact, I have rode roller coasters all over. I have fractured wires before but not on roller coasters, mostly from painting, and or bowling, which I don't do anymore. I am 36 and have had my pacemaker since I was 19, I have lived life as normal for the most part.
