Re: KTLA Breaking News.... The Rivers of America are DRY

I didnt catch that segment today, but at the beginnig of the draining, KTLA was already talking about it. That is actually how i found out(this was part of why i joined micechat, that and the fact that i'd been meaning to join for like a year.) but yeah, KTLA has had this covered for a while. Maybe they mean that it is literally DRY now with absolutely no water???

Wow..I would figure they'd be covering the rain today, but I guess they got tired of doing that too.

Re: KTLA Breaking News.... The Rivers of America are DRY

You know, it is amazing, KTLA is a Tribune company, but, IMHO, has covered the Disneyland Resort more than ANY other local station, even the Disney owned KABC. Part of it is the "National" requirement of things like Good Morning America.

But I was lucky enough to be part of the KTLA broadcast of the 50th Anniversary on May 4th, 2005. They had the event covered...

KTLA is also the PREMIERE Tournament of Roses Parade coverage.... Let alone locally, it ends up being the PRIMARY Broadcaster if you look at the International coverage. Yes, the news a few weeks prior to the parade seems to be OVERLOADED with Rose Parade coverage, but still, the actual parade is AMAZING!

So yes, we picked on KTLA today, but in general, they do a great job!!!!!! (Is that covering my butt......)

And Happy Birthday Frank Buckley, hope you enjoy your AARP card

Yes ... KTLA also did their morning show live from DCA for the opening of Toy Story Midway Mania. Disney did a whole set for them just like they would do for Regis & Kelly.

Oh yes, I loved the Toy Story Mania! Opening Day coverage, they started with Mark Kriski (the KTLA Weatherpserson) LOCKED into the Boudin Bakery as Disney didn't want anyone out in "public" areas until 7 AM, as Disney was doing cleaning, etc.....

Re: KTLA Breaking News.... The Rivers of America are DRY

Was looking for a photo, and found an old thread....

KTLA coverage of Toy Story Mania

And yes, Gayle (Anderson - one of KTLA's main reporters) lost her lunch after riding California Screamin', even admitted it on air today. And asked one of the Disneyland Hosts (Plaid) if there was such a thing as a "Code V" and did she create one....

    Vomit Memories.....

That was a perfect day for the event. I was at the park for the opening ceremonies. The last opening I had been to like that was the opening of Star Tours.

Frank received two birthday cakes on air today. One on the morning show and one on their 1 pm news.
