    How Many Waterfalls Are There?

My friends and I were sitting around doing nothing and we got to talking about Disneyland and the question came up,

How many waterfalls are there and where are they? Any waterfall, large or small. To be generous let's count even the drops on Pirates and Splash as waterfalls. How about in the whole resort? Which one is the biggest and which one is the smallest?

I thought this may been discussed before but I couldn't find it using the search feature.

    What's your guess?

I know the Splash Mountain Final drop should be the biggest.

Huh. You mean places where water falls due to gravity, so including those in attractions.

Adventureland might have the highest waterfall-to-attraction ratio, with the Jungle Cruise and the Treehouse.

Wait, does this include fountains? Because after water shoots up it does indeed fall.

(I've never visited Disneyland Resort, Tokyo Disney Resort, Disneyland Resort Paris, nor Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, so don't be fooled when I pretend to know what I'm talking about. [But I'm pretty good with the information, if I do say so myself. And you can hit me all you want with Walt Disney World.])

Unless it's being shot up at escape velocity.

Counting fountains is a bit of a stretch, Merriam Webster defines waterfalls as:

1 a : a perpendicular or very steep descent of the water of a stream b : an artificial waterfall (as in a hotel lobby or a nightclub)

so that's a great place to start, and I'm talking about any waterfall inside or outside, so those inside attractions would most definitely count.

    Well, lets start:
    1. Schweitzer Falls (Jungle Cruise)
    2. Tarzan's Treehouse water fall
    3. Pirates of the Caribbean first drop
    4. Pirates of the Caribbean second drop
    5. Splash Mountain first drop
    6. Splash Mountain dip-drop fall
    7. Splash Mountain final drop
    8. Water fall nestled into the corner of Pooh ride, and confectionery shop
    9. Big Thunder Mtn. Railroad cascading water fall - first lift
    10. Snow White Wishing Well groto water fall
    11. Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage entry water fall
    12. Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage exit water fall

    Nothing else come to mind.

So .. there's at least 12. If not more.

Actually, I heard Pirates was the actual "biggest", as in length or height, its just at a different angle so doesnt feel bigger

You forgot, the one at the end of Pirates is counted as a waterfall. I read in a disneyland fun fact book one time that it's the only place in the park where you go down and up a waterfall.

There are at least two, maybe more, in the grotto of PotC. There is a small one after the big drop on the right side of Splash Mountain. There is the one on the north side of BTMRR. You left out Matterhorn, not sure how many it has, three maybe? That's all I can think of, but obviously I need help to come up with an exact number.

    13. Matterhorn - cascading water fall - facing east (to TL)
    14. Matterhorn - cascading water fall - facing north/east
    15. Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage entry water fall
    16. Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage exit water fall

Too bad Nature's Wonderland wasn't still around.
We'd be counting a lot. Which probably holds the record for the most number of water falls for any Disneyland attraction - Past or Present.
