    What will replace ELP?

I was disappointed to hear that the ELP is being shipped off to WDW. It was bad enough that it was kicked out of our Main Street (where it belongs) and thrown into DCA. At any rate, I'm wondering what Disneyland will have for its summer nighttime parade?

While not a permanent replacement, it will act as one this summer.
Let's say ELP was still there, no one would give a rip about it anyway because World of Color will be premiering and it will be huge.
People would only be interested in waiting in whatever spot they can around the lagoon to see WoC.
I'm sure it will be back, but for now it's just a distraction.

Good point. Although we haven't heard of a possible return of DEP to DCA after this summer. If there are plans to bring it back to DCA (I mean seriously, we only had the new float for barely a year and now they're moving it to FL) then it won't be for a year or two.

I rather the parade not come back and Disneyland get something new, but then again I am not the guy who says "NO DON'T CHANGE THAT! ITS SO CLASSIC!"

Eh, I am that kind depending on what it is.
I understand that things need to be updated, and I'm completely for adding new things and fixing old things.
But MSEP is seriously an Awesome parade. And if they're updating it with new lights and technology for WDW, I doubt it'll be glowing away anytime soon, I just hope we get it back... and maybe they can put it back on Main Street. With WoC around, it will no longer have to serve as something to pull crowds.

I rather see Disneyland give MSEP the Dreamlights treatment rather then add some new lights to the same old floats.

From what I understand, DEP is only going to WDW as part of the Summer Nightastic promotion. It should come back after that, though due to continuing construction in DCA it may not be showing for a bit more.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

Unless the people in Orlando/ Lake Bunea Vista plead with TDO to keep EP there beyond SN!, then we will have lost it to them forever.

I would like to see them make a new parade based off of it on Main Street. They could have all new floats with new themes but same theme song and lights all over the floats.

Then that would mean that Disneyland would have to make a new parade!

Good point, once they start ripping up the entrance and sunshine plaza, we're stuck with nowhere for the parade floats to come from.
But if that's really the case then that would mean no parades for like a year.... Disney will definitely find a work around for that.

In fact, now that I think about it, they'll probably just use the current temporary parade exit as an entrance, and have the floats use the old exit by Paradise Pier. It will be the same sort of short parade route we have right now.

I don't think that would fly. The DEP is still massively popular at the DLR and since it is owned by TDA and only on loan to TDO, TDA doesn't have to grant extension to the lease for SN!. Though they might let them continue to borrow it until DCA is ready to have the full parade route back up and running. But rest assured, DEP will be coming back to DCA.
