    Question Debate: "Land" vs. "Area"

I need help settling a debate my partner, Robert, and I are having regarding a few sections at Disneyland. Would you consider the following to be "lands" or "areas"?

    • Main Street, U.S.A.
    • Mickey's ToonTown
    • New Orleans Square
    • Critter Country

    Thanks!

    - Q4D

PS: I'll post my answer later as not to sway anybody with their answer.

Those are all lands. Each one has its own unique theme and land. I would say that an area would be like the Alice area of Fantasyland. It consists of 3 Alice in Wonderland themed rides and shops together.
Land= own unique theme and area of land
Area= separately themed places that coincide in its existing land.

This has nothing to do with the thread, but I am at a complete loss to the third Alice Ride. The Teacups and the dark ride are all I could think of. What is the third, as it has slipped my mind

I agree, they're lands, it would be like how DCA has BVS, Hollywoodland, Paradise Pier, Flik's Fun Fair, and Golden State, I wouldn't consider the Condor Flats, or Pacific wharf their own seperate lands over there though

I meant that the Teacups, dark ride, and Mad Hatter shop are all right next to each other. The Mad Hatter shop even has the door to the White Rabbit's house, further defying it as an "area" of Fantasyland. Plus, the bathroom in Matterhorn Way are themed to Alice in Wonderland.

EDIT: Thank mickeyfan42 for helping me clarify!

Actually, when DCA first opened its various areas were called "districts," if I recall correctly, to play up the park's attempts to be more sophisticated and adult-centric. Anyone may correct me if I'm wrong, though.

    P.S. I voted lands!

Downtown Disney District yes, but they originally talked about everything as "The paradise pier area", "the golden state area"

    good point
    isn't DCA and DLand different.
I think DL is all lands (Main Street can be argued)
and DCA is areas or some one put...districts.
Then again, you have Bugs land.
    who knows.

Lands, yup. They may not have one of the four cardinal "_____land" monikers, but they're lands nonetheless.
