    Stroller lane down mainstreet

For the safety of everyone, don't you think they should incorporate a non-marked lane down the east-side of mainstreet for north-bound strollers, and the west for south-bound. I mean with big crowds I don't appreciate a stroller-ankle attack, most are incidental but people use them aggresively, and for the safety of the little ones...

I'd also include the motorized vehicles.

    What do you think?

p.s. they could inform people upon entrance of this "new" policy!

That would be an awesome idea but the guests wouldn't be able to self-manage themselves so some staffing there would be required. This is especially a great idea for the weekend crowds.

Maybe, but I see it like "no flash pictures please" -- most patrons "respect" the request while some others simply feel that their selfish tendencies should be exempt from all these requests .

I agree the idea that people would even consider self management expects too much from everyone to be socially responsible. How do you get these people to queue up to begin with? and at the end of the lane all heck breaks loose as the stroller crowd breaks off to go their own way. imagine what it would be like after the fireworks when the stroller crowd leaves, yikes!

    It'll never work. Period.

The general public does not have the brian power to follow simple directions. Even when they are told so...

Just look at ANY other situation where guests have to follow simple, basic instructions.

    For example:

Throwing away the plastic food trays despite signage stating not to.
    Flash photography.
Standing up during a sit-down ride.
Smoking outside of the smoking sections.
Non-AP'ers getting into the AP only entrance line (back when they had them).

    Just to name a few.

And throw in the lack of common sense to the equation and you have a total meltdown of the rules.

Not to mention the folks that just don't give a hoot about the rules...

    Nope, it'll never work.

I wouldn't go as far to say as it'll never work. If only half of the people abide by the rule that makes the rest on Mainstreet have 50% less traffic from stroller use. If they didn't mention no flash photography it would look like a disco in Pirates. So while we can never expect 100% cooperation, any little bit helps.

Steel strollers. Underground super-magnetic tracks. No deviation from route possible.

Something needs to be done. It's just too crowded! I agree the general public would not follow instructions. However, I like the idea of an arcade on the east side of Main Street that Al mentioned in the article. That extra space should revive a lot of grid lock.

Careful. Disney will have the stroller lane pass through every store and restaurant in the park. Marketing always wins!

I'd like them to incorporate something like this on the jogging trail by my house. There are no lines and people think they are pushing their strollers in England (you know, the wrong side of the trail).

And then they don't get out of the way for the runners/bicyclists. That's MUCH more dangerous and annoying than Main Street.

I agree the general public wont listen/read. I do think if they open up an arcade on either or both sides of main street, that would really help. Main Street is just to congested and forget trying to shop. After the frustration of Main Street, I just want out of that place. I don't shop much on Main Street anymore. Anyhow, they need to do something. There is just to many people on Main Street at once.

If there is a stroller problem, then it is caused by only one thing. Eliminate that thing, and there will be no stroller problem.
