So .. they want to do more than one "Tron" attraction for Tomorrowland?

Or .. are you saying they got several attraction concepts .. from which ONE will be picked?

And depending on your answer .... according by whom?

Ok, using the Tron topic along with the Olympics finishing up, who else thought the Australians speed skating teams outfit looked like it belonged in Tron? Look at the 2nd on the right. The one on the far right is a joke someone did!

Tony Baxter wants one on the Peoplemover track--lightcycles. The other, s brand new ride located somewhere in TL. That hasn't gotten as far as the Blue-Sky phase I believe, but it was developed to a point. Don't know of the status of it now

    Thanks
So they want TWO "Tron" attractions.
Well ... I hope he gets his wish on the second one.
The first - Not happy with that.
That basically means - "Rocket Rods 2.0" a thrill attraction with "roller coaster" type speeds. Which means - low capacity! I thought their concentration was on high capacity attractions.

Then there's the issue of "light" during day light hours. Sort of kills the main focal point about the ride .. during the day.

And of course .. this means a total retrofit .. if not totally demolishen to 4,000 feet of track, and replace it all ... as it was reported Rocket Rods shook the Peoplemover track a little too hard, and weakened it. Not to mention the supports and infrastructure as it's attached to the metal steel skeleton of several Tomorrowland buildings.

We're talking a real major renovation to Tomorrowland in order to create Rocket Rods 2.0 .. err .. excuse me - Tron Light Cycle Thrill Ride Not Meant For All Ages.

I hope that rumor is just meant to ruse the fan community ... and give what so many fans have been asking for .. for years: Peoplemover (albeit - a new version with new futuristic lines that separate it from the 1967 original!)

It would be neat if they made the Starcade into Flynn's Arcade.

Re: Possible future of TRON Legacy at Disneyland hinted at...

    This is from Blueskydisney:

Then there is the merchandise that you're going to see flood the parks come this October/November. Expect Tomorrowland to be filled with all things Tron. And some of the areas are being talked about getting "thematic" makeovers. If you're into Retro-Eighties with the Captain Eo attraction back for a limited run, then prepare for more, albeit fictional nostalgia. Should it get approved, you might get to see the arcade next to Space Mountain turned into a variation of "Flynn's Arcade." We'll cross our fingers and see if the Suits make the call on this one.

Naturally, there's the talk of a Tron attraction at Disneyland and various other theme parks. WDI is working on concepts for a Tron experience, but don't expect a fully immersive Tron Legacy attraction by the time the film opens. Any attraction wouldn't be seen in Tommowland until 2012 at the earliest... but that doesn't mean there won't be surprises between now and then.

I've been told that nothing has been signed off on for an E-Ticket, but Imagineers are working to create an impressive addition to the already talked about elaborate expansion of Disneyland for the sixtieth anniversary. While my Bothans were spare with the details since they are in the embryonic phase, they none-the-less said that the concepts are pure, Disney spectacle and absolute techno-geek magic. There are many things that are being planned in this blue sky phase, but remember that it's early. Just like the Tron universe, these designs/plans are likely to evolve.

Tron has many options to choose from such as

-Starcade transformation into Flynn's Arcade or better yet, just call it Tron Arcade.

Here is a crappy pic of what the Tron Arcade originnally planned for innoventions in epcot:

PeoleMover station/platform for possible E-ticket ride

Not sure about Tron in the 3D theatre since we already have Tron Legacy coming out in 3D in december, it would be wierd to have some kind of continuation to the film as a 3D attraction in Disneyland.

Innoventions can integrate Tron somehow in a new exhibit.

so then what about its tough to be a bug???

Wouldn't it be easy to make it so the viewers are transported into the digital world. Have the preshow show MCP or Sark gaining access to digitalize large groups of people to draw tron out, or something like that. Almost like a low budget(Lower then the other ideas) version of the spiderman hybrid idea, which i imagine TDA would love.
