    Pixar Play Parade Locations

It's been long rumored that PPP will go to DLP. It has designed to fit WDS and move at the end of its original run in mind.
This should be the third parade to leave DCA after BPB and DEP.

This seems right to me scene, there's too much construction going on. What do you think?

The current parade in WDS is boring and ugly Stars and Motocars Parade. C!ASP looks more better in IMHO. idk how looking at cars is entertaining.

oh btw, DLP always films adds at DLR. scroll down to the middle of the page and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I have also heard it may go to Paris. I personally don't see it going away until about 2012 though, despite construction. That would give it a solid 4 year run, which is kinda typical.

It needs to go to Walt Disney Studios Paris. That park desperately needs the RIGHT help.

"oh btw, DLP always films adds at DLR." A bit of exageration no? Maybe you mean they often use stock footage from Disneyland but I highly doubt that ever add for DLP was shot in Disneyland. C'mon now. Use some common sense. The only reason they shot it at DLR for this ad is because we have Play Parade, an excellent float to use for the TV spot.

I'm usually not big on making parades, even good ones, hand-me-downs, but I'd make an exception here. Stars and Motorcars is god awful. I can't believe it lasted as long as it did in Florida, and then it was foisted upon what I feel is the worst park disney has ever created. Why on earth did Paris want the thing? Was it free? Did DHS pay WDSP to take it? But then, from what I've seen, Paris's entertainment team overall has highly questionable taste. The one bright spot, DLP's current day parade, really isn't all that bright even. It's passable, not much better than the "(Insert Marketing Name Here) Dream Come True Parade" at MK. The music for it is really bad though, very disjointed. It sounds like they took the 15th theme song, clips of disney music, and a 10 year old with a music editor, and then said "There, soundtrack!" I wouldn't be surprised if the audience there didn't know what they were watching with PPP, they've been fed nothing but entertainment sludge for so long.

Really? I'd have to disagree about the daytime parade. Music aside, the floats are excellent! I mean they're big and bright and detailed with a range of Disney movies represented. I'm not fond of the new trend of grouping together villains and princesses on a float each which is the case in many Disney parades now, but apart from that I think that the parade is currently one of the best daytime parades in a "Magic Kingdom" park in the world, probably 2nd after Tokyo's "Jubilation".

As for Pixar Play Parade, I was intrigued when I saw a clip of it in the new DLP advert, and quite surprised that there were plans to bring it to Paris so soon after it's DCA debut. I know that no official announcement has been made but it's clearly planned to happen at some point given that the parade was designed originally with the said move in mind.

The only downside to it's design would be that the water effects would be useless for a large part of the year in Paris.

Really. With DLR's current parade they are going to possibly ship out the best parade at the resort at the moment. Jeeze I hope Disney has something big to compensate the loses both at DCA and DL (In parade form).

Keep in mind the DLP advert was FILMED at DCA.

The reasons they shoot at DLR is it's proximity to the film making industry and weather. There are dozens of high end production houses in Santa Ana/Anaheim/Orange. I doubt they care about the parade, as long as it fills the screen and looks pretty. That's how it is. Remember seeing DLRP's Space Moutain footage used in the commercial for the relaunch of DL's Space Mountain.

I don't mind the floats as much, but the music just kills it for me. There's no energy, and the moment you get into any kind of rhythm, the song changes. Mind you, I've only seen the parade through videos, perhaps it's better in person. Beyond the music, some of the costumes (the marching cards with lifeless face masks, the weird flamingo... things) are bizarre and unappealing, the character sculptures on floats all seem off model and badly crafted, I'm not very sold on some of the half and half floats, and in one video Peter Pan looked like he was trying to stab someone Psycho style You're not Michael Myers Peter, the dagger should be used like a sword.

I would only be in favor of PPP leaving for WDSP if a new parade were guaranteed for DCA of equal or greater quality. What I'd like for the future is to see a new day parade for DL, hopefully at Jubilation level quality, a completely new MSEP using the latest tech and innovative float designs (to be updated every so often with new floats and tech so it never gets stale), either keep PPP for a bit longer at DCA and add a float or two to represent Wall*E or UP or both, or get a new day parade, and finally a completely new, completely unique night parade for DCA. Only then will I feel DLR is starting to hold its own with Tokyo.

Disney parks commercials never made sense to me. It takes hours to film something that only lasts 1 second.

anyways I found something else. this photo shows DLR filming an old DLP commercial. since when did the candle from beauty and the beast, 3 little pigs, and robbin hood show up at DL. filming a commercial on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

the final cut. look at the video still or 0:18 it's the same characters as the pics and both have confetti.
and I think the start of the ad is DL. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wdLQNE9iZo&feature=related"]YouTube - Disneyland Resort Paris 15th Anniversary TV Spot (40secs)[/ame]

Sad Re: Pixar Play Parade Locations

While reading this thread something occurred to me. I have been enjoying the PPP for the past couple of years and I remember when the Bug's Life float disappeared and why. However, when repairs were made to the Bugs Life float, it returned into the parade rotation. When it broke, it was on all of the blog sites. But what happened to PPP's Ratatouille float? I have not seen it in ages nor have I noticed anybody asking about it. What happened to it? Or do I just have the bad luck to go on days when it is not included? Never heard anything about it breaking down. The conspiracy theorist in my asks maybe it's already been sent to DLP or DHS. Ooooohh......

    Re: Pixar Play Parade Locations

I was under the impression that Block Party Bash would move on to Walt Disney Studios Paris and that Pixar Play Parade would move to Disney's Hollywood Studios. Like, they have a system for these parades.

I might not have ever heard that, maybe I just speculated it- but I'm not sure.
