    World of Color Holidays?

hey everyone I was just wondering if WOC will have any holiday shows??? Because I once heard that they had a holiday Christmas show once called Luminaria so I am thinking if they had a holiday show one time they are probly bound to do it again. And I am not thinking of only Christmas shows. They other idea might be a Halloween show. You know because of the Halloween parties DCA has. And also would it cost to much if they had different shows for Halloween and Christmas? Iwas just thinking this because I though it be a cool overlay.....

Very unlikely it would happen this year. They need to get it running and coordinate the main show and debug it first.

From then, they need to make sure everything is reliable, working as intended etc. There really is no time for the team to go back to the books and coordinate another detailed show, much less program it.

I think Steve Davison said at the D23 Expo that he would consider it. I think it could be great, but wait for next year.

    From Yesterland:

In an interview for the D23 website, Steven Davison, vice president, Parades & Spectaculars, Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Entertainment, explained, “We will do a holiday show and probably a Halloween show. World of Color is as endless as your imagination. We have some great ideas for Christmas that will surprise everybody, that will totally do new things.”

I wish I knew how programming and stuff worked for the fountains.
I'm assuming it's all computer run as a pre-programmed show...
So theoreticallly, once they completely get the actual World of Color show worked out, get all the kinks out, and completely figure out just how flexible the programming is.... I don't see why they wouldn't at least experiment with different ideas.
I personally think that would be awesome to have some sort of holiday show.
But then at the same time, everyone who only comes down here for the holidays, and really wants to see World of Color, would be thoroughly disappointed to not have an opportunity to do so.

But I agree with Hatebreeder, if anything does happen, it won't be this year.

they can do a holiday show easily. they would just need to reprogram some of the fountains and projectors.

SD said he loved the Lumiaria soundtrack, and would possibly do a new re-hash of the old Luminaria show.

Imagine at the beginning of the show, when the lady says "This is the season of LIGHT", but in WOC form. Oh man that gives me the willies.

    LuminAria 2.0 sounds pretty cool.

I heard the same in the Blue Sky Cellar. But everything is going to take time. So lets wait patiently.

It would be great if LuminAria was brought back, judging from test videos of WoC it would be amazing and still be able to include art work from guests. I would be very surprised to see a holiday version this year but maybe they will test a holiday version with Halloween Screams at the Trick-or-Treat Party.

I think what sucked in the past, should burn in the depths of Disney history and never be spoken of again.

Please no reviving the dead Disney, leave what is truly dead, dead. Light Magic, Luminaria, Steps in Time, let all those die.

agreed. I think they they could do a newer, better, holiday show than Luminaria. I saw it once, and didn't like it. But all I remember was crappy music and lots of smoke...couldn't really see the fireworks.

Give them time to get WoC off the ground. Baby steps before running. It'd be smart, and probably the most logical to have a holiday nighttime show in DCA to get guests in both parks, but only time will tell.

Do you even know why Luminaria was unsuccessful?

It wasn't because of the soundtrack, I guarantee you that or else they wouldn't be using it across the esplanade for the Wintertime Castle Show...

It was because of the Pyro. They tried to create a show similar to reflections of earth, a huge pyro show, in a lagoon that is 1/4th the size of Epcot's. Luckily we have WOC now, that creates a whole new world of opportunity/variation for the soundtrack.

A Christmas version of World of Color would have a lot of potential.

Let's hope a Holiday World of Color becomes it's own wonderful show in it's time. (and don't do any predamage to a potential Christmas show be calling it Luminaria 2 - that was not worthy of a sequel. Yes I agree there was too much wrong with that show, including the awful music and smoke, and awful projections.)

Doesn't matter, guess what people remember it as? A bad show. A bad show is a bad show none the less. What sucks, sucks and leave it in the past.
