    Westside Vs. Eastside (Disneyland), Represent!

Here is an interesting thread. If you had to choose a "Side" of Disneyland to claim as your own, what would you choose?

-You have the "Westside" which includes, Adventureland, New Orleans Square, Critter Country and Frontierland.

    - Pros - (Pirates of the Carribean, Haunted Mansion, Critter Country, Clam Chowder, Unique Bourbon Street Inspired Shops/Buildings, Beautiful Greenery, Tiki Room, Indiana Jones, Jungle Cruise Standard Setting Originality). No overhelming call to arms to drastically add or change to these lands.

    - Cons - (Ridiculous foot traffic, where to the point your foward movement is impossible, Frontierland is plain and uninspirable, consistant breakdowns with one of the main attractions, IJA). *Note there have been have amazing ideas to transform these lands, but compared to the demand to drastically overhall the proceeding, it does not compare.

-You have the "Eastside" which includes, Fantasyland, Toontown, Tomorrowland and Main Street.

-Pros - (Space Mountain, Matterhorn, Dark Rides, Small World per uniqueness, Star Wars inspired franchinse attraction (which assumes unlimited possiblities aka ST V.2). Buzz Lightyear is cool.

-Cons - Waste of usable space (Autopia, Innovations), no creative transformation of current attractions to provide a sense of unperceived possibility of what tomorrow might include. The inheret yearn for an original attaction conveying excitement individuals might experience in 2050 +!

The different themed lands trigger differnent thought processes in your mind. The senses play a huge roll in how you perceive your experience. Also, past experiences with family and friends play a large part in how you interpret and rate these different lands.

I know what my vote is, I am very curious as to what is your personal preference?

Simply put, the West Side always wins for me due to atmosphere and besides Adventureland, use of open space. The nooks and crannies of New Orleans Square, the river front, the forest type areas of Frontierland and Critter, the island....incomparable to the east side, which feels far more "urban" by comparison.

Plus, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, Jungle Cruise, Tiki, Big Thunder, the riverboat...all in environs that match them perfectly with surroundings and support them. No contest.

    Can't vote.
    I like MS too.

I'm good w/ most of it minus TL

I think everything around ROA is very nice and relaxing.
Even CC is very nice w/ all the trees and being able to eat near ROA.

I feel that Space Mountain is the best Goddamned coaster ever. This is what tugs at my heart, this is such a strong hold in the eastside. I feel beside the Fantasyland dark rides, this is the mainstay in the Eastside. I mean, the Matterhorn holds it down, but SM, you are the only true reason I step foot in the eastside............and you know it.

You're like asking me to choose between my two sons and I will not do it. How about I'll take the whole park minus Tomorrowland? That I could live with.

Re: Westside Vs. Eastside (Disneyland), Represent!

I love the westside a lot!

To me, the Westside focuses more on the Real World while the Eastside is entierly on the fantasy side.

When I'm at the park, I'm on the westside more than the eastside.

And I think Main Street should be just neutral since it's the dividing line between both sides.

In CM terms, Main Street is considered part of the westside.

East Side. Matterhorn, the dark rides, space mountain, and IASW make me want it. I would miss POTC and BTM though. Maybe we can have both >_<
