Do you like the Castle with or without Ivy?

Do to the recent amazing posts of old photos showing the Castle with Ivy growing up the walls, do you prefer it with or without. Authenticity or Fantasy. I personally prefer it with. That in combination with the old swans was incredible. It transported me into Fantasyland even further. Could use a little trimming tho.

From darkfairycthulu fantastic post: Disneyland in 1982: Featuring New Fantasyland Construction!

From SpaceDog76 fantastic post: Some random old Family photos I found of Disneyland...

Please please PM me if I shouldn't link the photos. I'll be more than happy to oblige.

Why was the east side covered with ivy, and not the west side?

I think I actually like it with the ivy. But why is it only growing on one side in those photos?

Without. It actually makes it look unkept.

Without for me. The castle isn't a trellis, nor is it abandoned.. it should be kept pristine.

    without for me also.

ivy all over it takes me back to the typical fairy tale story: there's a princess trapped in there and a huge monster will kill you upon entering. it just doesn't seem as welcoming.

I go for WITH! I just looks far more enchanted with the ivy than without. I also like how it grows on one side; it just adds to the castle's charm.

On second glance, it just looks like a worst case of mold I've ever seen.

Without. It might have been nice if it was used much, much more sparingly.

I've never liked ivy. It's like a weed that just grows everywhere. I think the castle should like clean and pristine.

Re: Do you like the Castle with or without Ivy?

I think there's way too much ivy in those pictures. I don't think I'd like it no matter what, though, because I think the castle should look well kept. Walt even wanted Haunted Mansion to look well kept on the outside of the house, so I doubt he'd be happy with the castle not looking the same way.

Re: Do you like the Castle with or without Ivy?

I think the Ivy makes it look old world, and Aurora's Castle would have, historically speaking, been around for generations so to me it just adds to the charm...
