Wow that was fast. I was just there last week and didn't see a single door. Do the CMs operate them or just the guests in the row?

Yup, just saw that this past Saturday when I was there. Didn't get to ride in one though. Loading didn't seem to take any longer than usual, so I thought that was good.

You open and close them yourself. It's pretty simple. Just like opening and closing any other lever type door handle. Their are decals with arrows showing which way to turn the handle. Like I said pretty simple.

Well if you operate them, what's the point of them? If I really wanted off, I would push open the door and get off!

Yeah, the loading time with the doors shouldn't be any longer than the trams with no doors.

But I imagine it will once the summer and holiday seasons come in.

Right, which removes all fault from Disney if you fall off of the tram then. You would then be responsible for your failing out of the tram as you chose to ignore the provided safety mechanism.

Re: tram doors put into service

My cousin just sent me a random text message saying that the trams now have doors.
I was just at the park on Friday and the trams appeared doorless from the distance I saw them so I told her I wouldn't believe it until I saw somebody talking about it here on MiceChat.
    And here yall are!!! lol

    Does anyone have pictures yet?

Plagued posted pictures about a week ago with people riding, so I guess they are bringing them out.

yeah right...they will just be sued because the door were inadequate. Frivolous lawsuits will always exist.

These doors are a sad waste of time...gross. For some reason they represent to me the whole lost concept of personal responsibility and they really really bug the crap out of me. If they add 1 more second to boarding the trams I will have a hissy fit!

This just seems like such an over reaction to me. How fast do these trams go? 5 MPH? If it doesn't cut down on the load time, I guess it's no big deal, but it just seems like a huge hassle for Disney because someone falls off once every 20 years or so.

Oh, did they add this because they were recently sued? I don't know if they were, I'm just guessing.

Yes, two adult sisters fell asleep on the trams, fell out, and sued Disney. Because, of course, it's Disney's fault they were not smart enough to stay awake on a five minute tram ride, which sort of involves a moving veicle.

WOW! I didn't know anything like this happened. Was there a thread on it?
