    Okay fantastic, June 11th.

Now that we have a for sure opening date for WOC what's the word on, if any, preferred seating for the show like Fantasmic?

I heard a while back that they maybe offering something at the outside seating area of Ariel's Grotto.

So the question now is, why is little mermaid at beginning? Why has the story changed?? What has happened...

You started a seperate thread regarding this question right? If I'm mistaken and it wasn't you, basically it was discussed that because of the forced viewing perspective it wouldn't be very much of a value to use the Grotto for preferred seating. Instead if they will in fact have preferred seating option then most likely it will be in the areas in my pics below so that these people can get the best unobstructed views possible:

I spoke with a CM in the PPP area last week while I was checking out the fountain area and he mentioned that they were going to do the showpass for the first showing but the second showing would be open access. I don't know if that's what will actually happen but it would give more people who show up to the parks latter a shot at seeing the show. As long as people don't get too crazed and stampede into the second showing it seems like a good idea. Hopefully it will work out.

    a) If people have to work a 9-5 they're out of luck in getting a showpass and probably a valid spot in any stand-by line.

    b) People in my situation who have small children and drive up 100 miles to see WoC will almost be forced to arrive in the morning/early afternoon to secure their showpass and then basically wait 10-12 hrs to see the show. They would almost for sure need to get a hotel room to cope with the general "small children" stuff like naps, getting them out of the heat, etc.
And Disney wants you to come early and stay late. That's the whole point of building this in a theme park and not as a stand alone attraction.

Having you come over after work and check out the show would be a complete waste of Disney's investment. They want you to come and STAY - not come over for happy hour and leave.

Disney is not trying to cater to drop bys... they are trying to influence you to come and vacation at the resort.

Actually, it was. Disney had the June 11th date in the Summer Nightastic! press release and then edited the press release after the fact to remove the date.

The "come after work and check out the show" is the attitude of APs that completely ruins the Fantasmic! viewing experience for non-AP guests and the sole reason Showpass exists.

I guess I'm waiting it out at the park then, but you can bet that I'm bringing in a smorgasbord of refreshments and food with me.

I know what day I'll NOT be at the DLR.

Anyone know if that's a blockout day? If so, then maybe I will... but probably not.

I'm still stoked about this show though.

Yeah, I don't know if I'm going to be there for opening night. If anything, I'm probably going to see it once all the Socal APs are blocked.

EDIT: Victoria, SoCal APs are blocked on June 11th. Deluxe aren't.

Be happy they didn't push it back until SoCal AP's are blocked out for the summer. If I was Disney I would have.
