    Tall People/Long Legs

How do you, if you are tall or have long legs, get comfortable enough on ride vehicles that are not designed for tall people? I ask this question because I read another post about someone's husband being tall and my boyfriend is 6'4" and has long legs, which got us kicked off of Space Mountain one time (CM thought he was ignoring her when she told him to put his knees under the bar, they were under just not as far as she'd like and he couldn't make them go down any further).

I'm 6'4" and most of Disneyland can accommodate. However, Space Mountain is out. My knees are literally jammed into the from wall of the compartment. Not fun. I won't go on Space Mountain again.

However Matterhorn is the best. Plenty of leg room. I've seen the rumors that they are changing the cars...that would be a bummer. The current seat belt style is great. I can literally keep my legs straight out during the ride. Oh yeah!!!

Big Thunder Mountain is good as well as I can sit a bit to the side without any problems. Gotta watch the head on Tom Sawyer's Island...I've banged it many times running after my kids. :O I've gone on pretty much everything, and can only recall Space Mountain as being a no go.

Drawback to being 6'5, you don't get ride Space Mountain.

I loved SM. It used to be the ride I would go on several times and when I reached a certain height, i could not get my legs into a comfortable position. The last time I rode it, I really torn up my knees and had a difficult time getting in and out of the car.

This also worries me with the new Matterhorn cars that are supposed to be brought in. The Matterhorn is the one ride, where I am very, very comfortable on. Now with the 2 seater, I don't know if that is going to be the case.

In any case, when your tall or big, some Disney rides are just not made for you.

So unfair! They should fix this right away! If they are going to change IASW boats to accommodate bigger people they should do so with all their rides. It just makes me so sad, because he used to love Space Mountain and now he has a horrible memory of it. Its not his fault he is so tall!

I'm only 6' 1" so I don't have that issue at DL. But I can almost sympathize with you, at WDW their Splash Mt with the side by side seat can barely accomodate me as my knees barely fit, it's an EXTREMELY tight fit! Fortunately at DL, with the single row of seats, No problem at all!

Gadget's Go Coaster is one you might want to avoid, I had trouble getting in and I'm almost 6'-0".

Of course, it would of helped if my brother didn't pull down the lap bar so soon!

huh? I'm 6'5 and have no problems on space mountain. Maybe my legs to torso ratio is different than you guys? On the other hand, I allmost got kicked off Mullhulland Madness because I could barely fit in the seats.

If I recall correctly, the front row of Space Mountain has a bit more leg room then the other rows.

I'm only 6' and Autopia was tough on the legs for me. Least the car I was in. I could barely get my knees under the steering wheel. As fun/silly a ride as it is I can't see myself going on it again until my son is big enough to try it.

Hey, when you make a little girl cry because it takes you so long to get out of the ride car and she thinks she won't be able to ride, you tend to rethink things.

Everybody looked at me like I was some monster. You don't forget that.

I'm only 5'8" (but my legs are a lot longer than my upper body) and Autopia is an awful ride for me. My knees barely fit under the steering wheel as well. And its like I have to strain my leg in order to bend it to push down the peddle and be able to move the steering wheel at the same time. I just avoid that ride, it's too much of a hassle for me ):

Ugh yes, Autopia. I'm about 6' and I have the hardest time with Autopia. I remember when I was a child I couldn't wait to get taller so I could reach the pedal. Well, I'm a tall adult now and I STILL can't reach the pedal, just in a different way. It's SO uncomfortable, and then about halfway through the ride my leg cramps up and I have to awkwardly shift around and try to fit my other foot under there, the whole time I'm either stopped or going really slowly. That's the other thing, I have such a hard time fitting my foot under there that I drive really slow and stop every foot or so of the way.

I'll echo a couple of these as I'm in the tall arena. Mulholland Madness and Gaget's go coaster are the worst.

I wish I had known this before so I could have pointed it out to the CM.
