So, this is my first ever TR here on Micechat. I've taken thousands of photos, been multiple times over the last couple years, but decided to finally take the plunge into an official Trip Report. My family and I went the very busy week of April 5th-10th.
First we left Placerville, CA. at about 6am, and drove and drove. It usually takes about 8-9 hours with bathroom breaks, lunch, etc. This trip however, we were on target to hit Anaheim in 7 hours...(driving the speed limit)...until we hit L.A. There we found a 2 hour drive in the total span of about 15 miles. There was a major big rig accident, and needless to say, it took a while to get through.
We arrived about 5pm to the Travelodge on South Harbor. We had some room problems, finally got it somewhat figured out, and decided to leave for Disneyland. Monday night we found the park busy, but with very easy wait times, and what I have been calling, "room to breathe". In other words, not so crowded that you have to look straight ahead of you in order to not bump into someone else!
Tuesday.....was a totally different story. This was our first experience with the spring break crowds, and frankly, I hated it. I feel incredibly responsible for my family, just like I'm sure everyone else does. I want them to have a good time, feel relaxed, and make a ton of memories. We were having a nice time, but I have to admit, that the crowds were so heavy, that it was really putting a damper into my fun.
I kept thinking about all the Disneyland people who control crowds, promote cheap AP's, etc. I wasn't mad, just frustrated. Sometimes the immense crowds, in my opinion, can take away from some of the magic. We were also dealing with some hotel problems, minor, but enough to give me some more tension. By late Tuesday, I was wondering if I really wanted to take a break from my job in Law Enforcement, (where I get yelled at everyday, threatened with everything, and sometimes even fight) to spend time at The Happiest Place on Earth. Maybe the ocean or somewhere else would be more peaceful and fulfilling. Then something happened that truly changed my trip. So here's my photos.....I'm sure they are just average ones that we've all seen before. However, I know (at least I think) everyone here on Micechat might want to see a great picture or two I got. So enjoy a few pics and let me know what you think. I'll be back later to add more about our experience. Thanks for taking the time to look!
