The Mayor of Main Street

On my last trip to Disneyland, I met the mayor of Main Street. He was wearing the 50th anneversary ribbon which many of the characters now sport in the resort. I know that J. B. Linquest in the Honorary Mayor of Disneyland from his dedication window above City Hall. He did not explain the difference between his role, and J.B.L. Who is this Mayor of Main Street, was he recently added, is he on main street every day, is there more than on person acting as the mayor. Can anybody shed some light?

I met him yestreday too. He welcomed me and asked for my support. He's sort of the Johnny Grant (the honorary Mayor of Hollywood - the Walk of Fame guy) of Disneyland I guess. But with a flashier ensemble.

I met him the last time I was there, too. He asked me how my day was going and if I was having a wonderful visit to Main Street USA.
Cool. He was in a vehicle before the Parade of Dreams also.

He came up to us while we were waiting to see the 50th film with Steve Martin and struck up a conversation. The kids were impressed with his "costume". He sat down with the kids and talked with them until the show started. About the only thing that he did not do was play with a baby (we don't have one anyway!).

A true politician! At least he didn't ask us for our vote. He didn't have to, he's already the Mayor...LOL!

Disney introduced him at the same time they started that rededication ceremony everyday at 10:30 (or whenever... the time changes on different days). I guess since they hired the guy, he walks around everyonce in a while giving the place atmosphere (i've talked to him, too).

He is also the person who rides in the firetruck introducing the grand marshall's of the POD parade.

I miss the Main Street Policeman and Goofy dressed as an early century cop, too.

what a great job...anyways I was wondering who the security guard who wears All white with black shoes, i think he has a black hat but i'm not sure, is he "special" or "honorary" ????

I remember him from the Mickey Mouse Club Birthday (from CL's pics). He seemed like a nice and congenial guy. I think he's a keeper!
