Re: The San Francisco Bay Area at DCA?Why???

If any one's been to pier 39 in the past 5 years or so, it's been drastically renovated & actually reminds me a heck of a lot of DCA's DTD. If they really wanted to add something authentically SF, I was just thinking of the aquarium they have there on the pier. They also have many large murals, famed archetecture, the coit tower... none of which are represented.

Or, the absolute COOLEST Tiki Bar left, the Tonga Room and Hurricane bar. (The Bamboo hut is a close second.) It really reminds me of the Tiki Room. Of course, there is also GG Park, the BEST sour-dough on the planet, North Beach, Cliff House, man I could go on forever.

Good idea! Regarding architecture/buildings, from my time there I seem to remember that the image of the Transamerica building is actually copyrighted by it's owners. This is probably why they went with stuff closer to street level.

I am looking forward to the Steinhart opening back up in a few years. That place, although old, was AWESOME. However, I do not think an aquarium really would fit into DCA. I think because they require so much money to be done properly, and upkept properly. I just don't see Disney doing it. I think the SF area could use a restaurant, especially given the OBSCENE amounts of quality places to eat in SF.

A true representation of SF (Pier 39) will have to include SEALS. Animatronics with a contiunal loop of that barking sound they do would probably cover it pretty well.

Here's a really morbid idea - Bungee jumping off of a Golden Gate Bridge replica.

Maybe they should put a replica of Alcatraz in the lagoon?

Maybe that in the middle of it and then bring back the motorboat cruise and put it around it.

Disney could buy up those wax figures on the market from the closing of the Movieland Wax Museum and put in a nice little wax museum in the SF area. That wouldn't take staffing and would be cheap.

I'd like to see the Gold Rush better represented in the San Francisco area.

Could they put an earthquake simulating attraction in those buildings?
