Re: The San Francisco Bay Area at DCA?Why???

The romance of San Francisco is really tied to the 1849 Gold Rush and to the 1906 rebuilding after the earthquake and fires.

By approaching the Gold Rush from the perspective of San Francisco, Disney would be able to avoid forming redundancies with Frontierland. And, the thematic idea would also create a stronger transition from the Grizzly Peak area.

Buffalo Soldiers?!?!?! They were in Texas fighting the Cherokee, not in California. The calvary that was around here during the gold rush was led by Gen Lowel Armistead. They definatly weren't buffalo soldiers as most of them quit when the civil war broke out to go join the confederate armies.
    Growing older is manditory
    Growing up is however, optional

Buffalo Soldiers where stationed in the Precidio by the end of the century:

There are some 450 of them buried in the National Cemetary there.

I like the idea of cast members dressed as homeless people. This would work especially well in the fake Mcdonalds area, which could be added very easily to this new SF locale. We should also include "PARKING: $40.00 per hour" signs, and several sea lions to block the parade route. Protests would definitely add some flavor and perhaps could be seasonal in nature. And lessee...what else... How about "Conservatives will be shot on sight" signs?

How about naked PETA demonstrators in front of Neman-Marcus?

    Street mimes in Union Square.

Muni Cable Car workers who will clink out any tune requested on their Cable Car bell...

Daredevil business men dodging runaway cars...

    Bicycle Couriors!

And my favorite: Street vendors pettling pirated Disney products imported from China on street corners in the business district...

They should do something with it.

Oddly enough the real San Francisco wax museum bought most of them.

Re: The San Francisco Bay Area at DCA?Why???

The first thing I thought of when someone mentioned adding CM's as homeless people was the classic sign from the 17th, "Will Work for Dole Whip".

Of course, if they were to add homeless people and seals to the mix, to make it realistic, you'd want to include their smells. I think a battle between roast coffee, seal poop, and homeless people aromas would be such that no one would ever want to go there.

I live in the rural gold country part of California, where the towns are irrepressibly cute and scenic, with wooden sidewalks under overhanging balconies, and cute shops full of antiques and curios. I always feel as if a gunfight could break out. Perhaps DCA needs a taste of the wild wild west? Or just a mine train through nature's wonderland?
