The AA figure is modeled directly on the original. Somewhere I read that they sent for and got the original head mold. Anyway, except for the hair, I think the new AA Ezra looks very good.

But look at the temporary CG version. Since he was temporary, people tended to give him a pass. But take a look. He simply does not look the same, period. Now look at the hands. The Blaine Gibson original gave the threesome outsized thumbs in order to slam their hitchhikerliness in your face immediately. Caricature for a practical purpose. The new AA keeps the original hands. But the CG version just throws this out the window without a thought. The big problem, of course, is that the new HHG effect in the mirror appears to use this horrible substitute as their animation model.
I still think the old Ezra looks like Ezra but the new Ezra looks like me. And I don't like the rinky-dink hands either. Although I like the hands on the Ezra in the WDW HM's former ghosty-go-'round, I've always thought that the head looked cheesy.

But there's something Charles Mansonish about the look in the new Gus' eyes.

I was looking closely at the new Ezra in the mirror (the one that plays tricks) and the character seems completely disproportionate. My guess is that each of the Hitchhiking Ghost characters was assigned a different animator and the Imagineer that programmed Ezra had the least art training. Or, all of the programming was done by an outside company that would suffer hefty financial penalties if a deadline wasn't met, and Ezra was programmed last.

The new Ezra AA has a comb-over.

I wonder why they don't just go back to totally bald for Ezra.

Anyone else notice the new WDW Phineas animatronic is winking?

And he does have Cousin Maude's portrait, who "went up in smoke."

    Maybe they were both "lit."

    "Disneytwins: He does have hair."
Look closely, the CGI mirror version has hair only on the sides, not on TOP. The AA has hair on TOP.

Probably because any existing merchandise featuring Ezra shows him with hair (the partially bald version; hair on the sides like the last AA figure had). Remember, it's always about the $$$.
