    Welcome!

We should have T shirts: "I read the Thread."

    Here lies good old Fred
He read the whole Forgotten Thread
    He made the mistake
    of not taking a break
There's little more needs to be said.

OMG. We could totally make it on CafePress. I want the really cool HBG graphic on the front of the shirt though...

I'll take one! Thanks for the welcome, everyone.

*sigh* I promised myself that I would wait to read all seven threads before I posted (to avoid newbie repetition), but I can't take it anymore. Everyone mentions "The Haunting" as the inspiration/influence on the Imagineers decision to make the CoD wallpaper and other (more hidden) faces in the mansion. As a former English teacher, I ask why no one mentions Charlotte Perkins Gillman's classic 1899 story "The Yellow Wallpaper" when talking about faces in the patterns?

*Back to page 35 of Thread 4 with me!*

Re: The Long-Forgotten Haunted Mansion Effect Thread 7: Further Realms of Fright

I never read "The Yellow Wallpaper" in English classes. I had some pretty awesome English teachers (one of them is responsible for prodding me into theatre and another for my love of epic fantasy books.) I'll check into it. I'm always looking for new things to read.

For discussion of 'The Yellow Wallpaper', and creepy face designs in architecture in general, see this post by our very own HBG2 on the companion blog to this thread.

Pretty much every animal in animation is either Welker or Dee Bradley Baker.

In other news, Tokyo Disneyland got the upgrade to Star Tours 2.0, and with it, a Haunted Mansion sight gag crept in to the queue:
