That HHG gag was actually done by a friend of GRD's, so ain't that cool.

Does anyone have any photos of the gargoyle in the endless staircases scene?

There are relatively few clear photos of the original Phineas Pock tombstone. So naturally, I thought I'd make a montage. Most of you have never seen the blueprint.

I finally watched a Mystic Manor ride-through and, gee, it certainly looks like a fun ride. It seems to have more in common with the whimsical Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin (which I quite enjoy) than the Haunted Mansion, but with the monkey as mascot throughout the ride it made me think of the HM concept with the raven as a singular continuing character, rather than the multiple ravens we have now. Also, this ride is an example of the "something goes wrong" school of ride storytelling (oh no, he opened the box!), as opposed to the Haunted Mansion's effect of progressive, ambient dread.

For those interested, a very nice video of the Tokyo Mystic Manor attraction...kinda reminds me of the long forgotten 'Museum of the Weird', finally brought to life...

For anyone interested, I made a quick video (featuring clipped scenes of said 'stretching face' painting from the only sources I could locate online) for a friend of mine who had asked to see the effect...

Thanks for the video, karcreat! Projections will never be as good as physical effects.

The Tokyo corridor of doors appears to be on steroids compared to the American versions.

The Tokyo HM is superior in many ways to its American counterparts. The Animatronics are simply amazing; so lively!

the frame on the push out face is kinda cheesy.....

does anyone know a perfect place to purchase the silk-screened haunted mansion attraction poster (new orleans)....i'm hoping to find it in the same exact size used in the park...

also, looking for clear blueprints of the HM as well...

    any help is greatly appreciated....

the gf and I are huge fans of this attraction.....

btw, love the Long Forgotten Blog.....great information!!
