Well they wanted Don Knotts to appear as the caretaker in the flesh, but they somehow weren't able to get him and they abruptly threw the character in as a ghost because they felt the need to still have the character around. The curse narrative extending to everybody was definitely a bad narrative choice too.

The production design was great, but the ghosts from the ride felt like they were shoe-horned in. I wish I had my screenshots of the movie facade I did in Rollercoaster Tycoon 2.

Yes, don't get me wrong, I can't stand the movie! I just love the set design.

OK, you guys...don't laugh too hard, please (my Photoshop type skills are minimal at best)...but I figured you are among the few who will get what I am attempting to reference, here...

    My tribute to Yale Gracey.

I attempted to reproduce one of his infamous 'Haunted Mansion production photos' that was published before the attraction opened in 1969 (link to actual pic below)...my version is meant to mirror my 'Daark Orphanage' miniature dark ride project, with the phantom of Miss Maple replacing the Hatbox Ghost...

I've been working on this for the past few weeks. Obviously, it's heavily based on the HM. Tell me what you think!

Some Behind The Scenes footage I had not seen before...includes interesting view of Endless Hallway/candelabra, looking out through 2 way glass to Doombuggies and more...(5 min 14 seconds in)

Re: The Long-Forgotten Haunted Mansion Effect Thread 7: Further Realms of Fright

The big corner piece of HM wrought iron just went for $1,030 on eBay. It stayed around $100 then in the last few seconds jumped to $500 and then to the final price. Gotta love sniping (unless you're getting sniped, of course).

One of the smaller pieces went a few minutes later for $405. It, too, was fairly low until the last seconds, going from $71 to $405 in the blink of an eye.

Update: The third piece went for $354.

That seems like a lot of money to pay for an unconfirmed piece, though.

I looked around for the wrought iron gaps outside the Mansion, but I couldn't find any. Oddly, I did spot some extremely similar wrought iron along the Storybook Land Canal Boats in Fantasyland. Am I tripping, or is that the same stuff?

    -Pickwick was still missing
    - Leota's face did not look lined up correctly on the head
