Wink Should the World of Color Have daytime fountains with Music?

Like they do In Las Vegas With a Cool Song or not , the reason I say this they do have benches and after a long day at the DLR wouldnt it be nice jut to sit in the hot sun and relax and enjoy a little fountain display.

    ........really?

I would think raising and lowering the fountains every hour would get to be a pain.
It's not like Tinker Bell's Pixie Hollow where the fountains are already going.

Well they said last year that was the plan, but we'll see if it really happens or not. But hourly doesnt necessarily mean every hour of the day either. It could just be a few shows a day starting around 1 pm and ending in the evening.

I don't remember hearing that either.
I don't search the internet much
but figured it would have been brought up on MC
    awhile ago.

    If so
    Interesting.
At Christmas time (closer to night) they give little nods towards the show to get your interest peeked.
I could see the pros and cons of it.

Or perhaps instead of the alternate shows for other seasons, they can just have seasonal day time shows.

I doubt they will happen right away either. It will probly be awhile before they start focusing their attention on "mini shows" rather than WOC itself

Yes please. Being in Vegas, I think about it every time I see Bellagio go off. Not sure if there would be any effect on California Screamin or the Fun Wheel with the water going off, as they will not be 'moving' during the normal show.

And it would be great if this could happen by Labor Day weekend, because it would be a blast to run by it during the Half Marathon and have them working.

I survived my first Marathon. Got my Mickey at WDW after 6:22:08 of "fun" on the course. Not happy with the time, so I will go back and be getting Goofy next year!

I would like to see something like that. I like fountain shows, I miss the one they use to have at Sea World years ago. Raising of the fountains/platform is done electronically I'm guessing. Push a button in the control room... it comes up. I wouldn't think it would be that much of an issue. It would just be programing the extra shows into the system.

Re: Should the World of Color Have daytime fountains with Music?

These day time shows would be GREAT atmosphere for the park and of course provide extra entertainment. It doesnt need to be a HUGE deal, just something similar to what Ballagio does now, a few minutes a day, one song per show, some Disney, maybe some Calif related and leave it at that.

But yeah it would be a great precursor to give people an idea what WOC would be like and a nice way to break up the day. And hopefully UNLIKE WOC, you could see these shows anywhere around the pier.

Re: Should the World of Color Have daytime fountains with Music?

We've talked about using the WoC fountains in the daytime for at least 2 1/2 years, here in various MiceChat topics.

The Paradise Puddle is pretty sitting useless all day, so with the high $$ investment in those state of the art fountains, it only makes sense to utilize them during the day, to a limited degree.

They really don't need to go all out with full daytime shows, although that would be a possibility. But at the very least, it would be interesting to see them use the fountains as a sort of clock, similar to the chimes on the Small World Clock.

It would certainly add interest and beauty to this otherwise boring body of water (even without using any music). And the daytime use of the fountains would have a completely different look, than they will during the after dark shows. The effect of having these fountains go off during daylight will give an entirely different atmosphere to the surrounding area! And THAT something that I think has been seriously overlooked, as 99.9999999% of the attention is only on the night show. I think the fountains going off, just a little, on the hour, or the quarter hour will have nearly as BIG an impact as the evening show, as guests ALL AROUND the puddle will see it. I have no doubt it will create a LOT of attention during the day. Again, the key is just to use it like the chimes on Small World.

Later, if they want to do a show and whole elaborate songs, that could be done, But for now, they should try a simpler approach and see the response, I sure it will be good. Later on, it might be fun to see them choreography music to some Roaring 20's songs - THAT would also help set the time period.

Maybe they could have something like this in the daytime.
