Re: Disney's World of Color: A Fireworks Show?

They should add some low level fireworks finale to WOC this will make it epic. They should just place the fireworks inside the 6 spotlight boxes/lighthouses whatever u call it. Having a firework finale won't cause any problem unlike Lumeria is just for the finale only.

It might. Some of those are too close to MFW for any pyro launchers to go off and the wind could blow them to the other areas of PP as well depending on direction.

Didn't Disney learn their lesson w/ fireworks in that area?

If I'm not mistaken, ppl couldn't breathe after that show from the smoke that lingered

Yes but if they just shot off a couple in the finale, I'm sure it wouldn't cause that much smoke.

Re: Disney's World of Color: A Fireworks Show?

Wasn't the issue with LuminAria that it used thick masses of fireworks, and that these were low-level, thus the smoke was both thick and low? With normal aerial shells, the smoke stays in the sky.

Fountain shows have used fireworks in the past. Two grand, long-lost water shows used them extensively. The "Lagoon of Nations" show at the 1939 New York World's Fair used fountains (some with movable nozzles) and three million watts of light, both in the water and as five movable searchlights, along with colored smoke, colored gas flames, and special no-report fireworks launched from 350 tubes. That show was run by three live operators, who were kept on-cue by an ingenious mechanical coding system which also timed the piped-in music from a live orchestra. The 1964 fair had a show on the same site called the Fountain of the Planets, which nixed smoke and fire but used brighter lights, punched card computer drives, and 464 fireworks tubes.

Still, I like WOC as no-pyro. That's just me... A number of overseas shows add pyro for more "whiz bang" without adding substance.

Re: Disney's World of Color: A Fireworks Show?

Anyway, the main idea of this topic was the potential of WoC being a fireworks show at Disneyland. Not California Adventure. It was a dream I had a while ago.
