Re: If you could go back in time to DL, what year would you choose?

    Great thread idea!

I would go back to 1980 purely for personal reasons.

I'd go while Walt was still alive and bring him video and pix of how DL is today. OH and show him what they did to the parking lot.

To stay on topic I'd probably go back to 1989 or 1990 so I could relive my childhood visits to the park and remember how DL was when I was a kid.

Early 60's, to see what I saw when I was a child.

The magic I felt then continues today. Nothing moves me like DL.

1984. Not a bad year. The Olympics were in town. I got my career in gear. I was only 28 years old then. Disneyland had great attractions, including the People Mover. Eisner was about to get control but that's another story.

    mid 1959 to mid 1960

With the first huge addition to DL, with the original Matterhorn, the original Subs, and the original Monorail, with the hope of meeting Walt!

oh, and the skyway and motorboats had just opened, too!!!

    As a guest....1977.
As a CM, my first full summer in park attractions...1984. Great place to work, great memories from my first year in Tomorrowland Attractions, when the area was full of action.

Back when I could sneek in through back gate.... and the lines were much shorter...

Better yet, we had our own race track and race cars (1/4 Midgets) to race on the Resort Property before a big guy named Walt bought the property, threw us off the land, tore up my racetrack (The Jelly Bean bowl), and put in Autopia. I still enjoyed Autopia but not as much as when it was my own playground.

This is Autopoia in 1955 with the Orange Groves in the background.

probably sometime in the early 80's, during the time that i first was going to Disney. and my grandmother would be there as well, the good old days. i would love to experience Adventure Thru Innerspace as an adult this time around.
