If you could go back in time to DL, what year would you choose?

Suppose you have a time machine and you can go back to any one year in Disneyland's 55 year history. What year would you select? Why?

I would go back to 1967 when the New Tomorrowland opened. That way I get to experience TL at its finest. I would finally get to visit Adventures Thru Inner Space. I'd hop on the old Submarine Voyage and take a flight through Skyway. At the same time, I could go to Frontierland and ride Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland... something I can only dream of having done now. Then I'd check out Fort Wilderness and catch The Golden Horsehoe Revue and enjoy all the other great things the park has to offer such as inexpensive food and good entertainment.

How wonderful it would be!

I would go back to 1964. Walt is still alive and many of the attractions that I wanted to go on were still active. I would have loved the Old Mine Train, the flying saucers, and I would LOVE to see the Tiki Room back in the day!

The one year that stands out for me is 1966, Summer. That is the last year we got to walk down Main Street with Uncle Walt.

If I could go back in time and rewind my age as well, I'll take 1965, I was 10 yrs old, thats when everything started making sense to me, and DL seemed to be this sparkling jewel that fueled my imagination I couldnt get enough og the place, from that day on I knew I was going to be a Disney nerd

Great thread! I've often thought of places I'd like to be if time travel were possible. 1955 would be great, but I'm torn between the mid 60's when the park seemed to grow into itself. I suppose anytime where seeing Walt in person at the park would be the best time to be there.

I would go back to opening day and write my name in inconspicuous areas where the concrete is still wet, then when I get back to present day I'll see if the writing is still there. Lastly I will realize that time travel is more a hassle than it is an adventure and destroy the Delorean by ramming the C.K. Holliday into it.

I'd like to go back to 1983 so I could watch myself drive the subs
or--better yet--to 1986 so I could watch myself working on the Jungle Cruise.
Is that narcissistic? (I'd love to give myself some advice, though it might cause future me and my kid to vanish.)

Great call on Coney Island back then, Burning Stoller, though if I weren't limited to Disneyland I'd visit Philadelphia in 1776 and 1787. Or London in the late 1500s or early 1600s to see Shakespeare's plays at the Globe. But I digress. My bad.
