Question What to do with a crawling baby?

We are going to the park June 21-25. This will be my second child's first trip. He will be 17 months old. Right how he is pulling up on things and getting around but not really walking yet. We are hoping he will be walking more within the next month. I was wondering, where is a good place to let him down to play if he is still mainly crawling? Are there any safe little corners where he won't get trampled? I know he will not stand for being stuck in a stroller or being carried all day.

how about the area near Small World? across from storybook land and before you get to Small World there is a large area to the right. if Small World isn't using it as a line I usually like to sit there and people watch.

maybe over near Pooh Corner? I don't usually see a whole lot of foot traffic near there. Unless of course the characters are out. Then it's a madhouse.

I'm sure you could find a corner inside of Inoventions which has the added plus of being carpeted. You could also take him to the lobby of the animation building in DCA. Lots of space to crawl around there, and also carpeted. Or you could take him to Carnation plaza there's usually not too many people around especially if they aren't using the stage.

We've been in this dilemma twice now. My kids got very awestruck once inside Disneyland and sat for longer than I had thought. But you can try the Baby Center on Main Street and it has a/c.

We'd move the baby around from the Bjorn to the stroller to holding them. We didn't stay long when they were that age, they'd tire quickly and so would our nerves, lol.

Does anyone else want to hum, "What To Do With A Drunken Sailor" while reading this thread?

In Disneyland, the Baby Center. Lot's of shady places but did anyone else notice that Disneyland is all cement, concrete or other hard surface? Grass is usually fenced off or off limits.
Or, if you and baby like to get wet, head to DCA and the Bug's Land area to soak in the fountain areas. Be sure to bring change of clothes for baby and for you.

Re: What to do with a crawling baby?

Thank you all for the tips. I have never been in Goofy's house, so we will definitely try that. I haven't been in Innoventions in years, so it might be a good reason to at least check it out again. I love the Animation building, but didn't think about just let him play in there. I am going to have to think about the Small World idea, though the extra pay would be nice.
