I went to DL for the first time last year for my son's bday and it just happened to also be Raver Day! I used to go to raves before I became a mama and I just thought it was so awesome to see all the ravers at DL. We are going again this year and I was just wondering if anyone knows when Raver Day is for 2010? Thanks!

I was never what I would consider a "raver" but I did go to raves and still do when a good underground one pops up.
When I was at DCA over the weekend I met a couple at that little mermaid bar. We talked for a bit and eventually got on the topic of raver day.
We all agreed that it would awsome if one day a year they would set up Djs and have an actual rave in the park. Listening to live Drum and Bass in Adventure land anyone!?

but loved the after hours clubs that did pure techno till 5am

I don't know for sure but it will probably be whatever day I decide to go. Some how I always end up accidentally going on raver day o_o
All this has happened before, and it will all happen again. But this time it happened in London. It happened on a quiet street in Bloomsbury. That corner house over there is the home of the Darling family. And Peter Pan chose this particular house because there were people here who believed in him.
So whats the problem with going on Raver day? Whats the problem with going on any day that a different group is having an unofficial event for the day? Its not like any of these people are contagious and you're going to become a raver by being next to one or they have giant cooties that are going to eat you or something. I have never understood the mentality when people say things like "Oh I sure don't want to be at Disneyland when that group is there...."
These are human beings just like you and me. Just like with Bats day or Gay day or Harry Potter day, they are just people who are at the park to have fun and spend some time with some friends. So maybe they dress different and look a bit different. Maybe YOU look different and dress different too. We are all unique and bazaar individuals in our own way...
Do they increase the attendance at the park? Sometimes. But if that same group of people came to the park and were not identified as a particular group it would change nothing. The park would still be just as crowded it would just be that a certain group didn't stand out.
Do they behave differently? Maybe. But again, on any given day in the park when you have 40,000+ people you are going to see people wearing what you might consider inappropriate clothes, you might see people behaving badly and saying inappropriate things or behaving in a not so family friendly manner. That has nothing to do with any particular group except the group called humanity.

Differences are not to be avoided. Diversity is to be celebrated!
I look at it like this... if DL decided to have a clown day I wouldn't go on that day. I wouldn't go because I have a clown phobia they freak me out. Why?? I don't know they just do, always have. But I do know that it has nothing to do with Tolorance, Respect or Acceptance. I don't go out protesting their existence. I would never insult those who chose to be clowns. I accept that they exist and just try to avoid large gatherings of them.
I totally agree we are all unique and bizarre but if we feel uncomfortable with certain situations there certainly is no harm in avoiding those situations.
I agree, the hate for raver day is stupid. To be honest, it's much more tame than Gay/Bats day. I'll be there.

I am going on the day I am going whether its Raver Day or not because that's when I plan on going. I don't think anyone is right or wrong for what they've said. On one hand, yes, it would be ideal if everyone wasn't judgemental and we could all just have PLUR in our lives. But on the other hand if someone makes you uncomfortable, it is your right as a human being to not be around them. But it is Disneyland and there are going to be hundreds of people all around you while you are there whether you like it or not and those people may very well be one thing or another that you don't like.... and you'd never know!
Btw... I have NOTHING against ravers. I used to be one (but it was a bit different back then and I certainly wasn't covered head to toe in beads, but thats their thing and it doesn't matter to me). I was simply curious if the day was going to fall on the same day as my trip.
