    Old Animatronics (graveyrad)

i love seeing old disneyland props and such on ebay. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a Disneyland graveyard or something like that. If someone had pictures of old Disneyland pieces from rides and stuff that'd be awesome.

You do know that most of the stuff on eBay is a replica, right? Disney keeps everything they ever make! Even the blueprints we saw online a month or so ago, it was a photocopy of it. Disney keeps everything!

Usually many things end up in the archives or in the dump. I know animatronic-wise, they use the old ones for spare parts.

I heard that they keep some animatronics in the drop space between the doombuggies and Madame Leota.

Can you imagine the money Disney could make if they auctioned some real props, or anything for that matter from the park? I know they do from time to time, but wow, I'd be looking for stuff like crazy!

Look at what their souvenir cups sell for! Disney would make a fortune from that, but it's highly doubtful they would sell all their hard work and stuff like that. People would be collectaholics about that kind of stuff...me!

On eBay, I have seen the Bertha Mae Keelboat ($15,000), a couple of Toad vehicles, a Skyway Cabin, a Davy Cocket canoe, Pirates boat, a PeopleMover car, and the cab of a Monorail from WDW.

I REALLY wanted the keelboat, skyway cab (great gazebo...), and a Toad car!

Hidden Mickey - Historical fiction about Walt that mixes action and mystery with time travel and fantasy! Tweens to adults will enjoy these novels. And now, three gamebooks to play in Disneyland, DCA and WDW Magic Kingdom!

WDW has closed so many attractions with animatronics (especially in Epcot). I know certain World of Motion AAs made it to DL's pirates (and bizarrely some at DCA for a brief while), but you have to wonder where the surely hundreds of shuttered AA. Are they just smashed up and reused? Or is there a giant warehouse full of Dreamfinders, Horizons robots, vegetables and other craziness?

Are you sure they were originals? That's the one thing I hate about eBay, you never know if it's legit! PhotoShop is amazing!

    Hate to break the news
    but they do sell stuff.

People have bought old ride vehicles
    the old Disneyland sign
    etc.

To that end I'd like the Internet community to join me in reminding the Disney company that "it all started with Walt." As you can see below we've created some T-shirts, plus a few simple graphics that you can copy and paste into your websites to let folks know how you feel.

    "Disney keeps everything!"
Well, that's just flat out NOT TRUE.

Some things (scripts blue prints ect) on ebay are just copies, BUT Disney DOES NOT have room to keep all their old material.

There have been a few people who have attempted to make a business out of selling old WDW props, signs and vehicles (and had warehouses near WDW) And DL did have an auction a couple years after the 50th, where several of the 50th props were sold at an auction, and additional items sold at a LARGE parking lot sale. There are a few MiceChat people who can give you first hand accounts of this, and even trip reports about the "Dream Sale" and auction. Car from Auto, the old skeeball machines that were in DCA, the old sign for the Snow White Show in the FL theater, Part of the 50th Crown Decorations and Jewels from the Castle, several of the hidden "50's", as well. Some of those items ended up being re-sold on ebay.

And even prior to that even Disney auctioned off some props from DL, the Disney Stores, along with some of the clothing for some Disney live action movies.

As mentioned already, there used to be a couple warehouses (not owned by disney) near WDW that sold old WDW props, ect.

There isn't a similar place in Californian, however. Closest that you are going to see something like that will require a special invitation to the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank. If you are so lucky to obtain a tour (which has recently been made available on an EXTREMELY limited basis through D23) You might be able to go in the Frank Wells Building, where in the lobby, they do have some wardrobe in just a couple displays usually from a more recent movie. They have also been displaying numerous hats worn in disney movies over the decades. And if you have further access available, you could see some additional archive items, in the archive room on the main floor, and then there is an even larger room upstairs in the same building with lots of other props and costumes ~ however non of the items in the archives is for sale.
