    Space Mountain

When they transform space mountain into ghost galaxy do they close it down for a rehab like haunted mansion holiday or what.. if so when do they close it down for the rehab to install the overlay?

I don't remember it being closed for too long last year, possibly a week(?). There isn't much to transform. It is mostly ghostly projections, both outside and inside the ride, and a different audio track. If they left the projection equipment in place, I don't see it having a very long refurb period. Although, I recall reading in this week's Round-up there are plans to decorate the queue this year, so it might make a difference.

Personally, I found the outdoor projection fantastic, but was not impressed by the projections on the ride. While I think it would be interesting to do a lighted ride, the projections lit the ride in a way that I felt detracted from the experience. I do know others who think it is a fabulous addition and wished it was that way year round.

It will be an overnight thing this year. Last year was the first time so they were installing the projectors and such. Now it's simply flipping a switch.

Our revels now are ended. I'm not sure about that. When Disney does stuff like that, they usually rent the equipment. Like the spot lights in Magical, interior and exterior projectors for SMGG, ect.

From everything that was said about it last year it won't be more than a day downtime.

Yea, it'll probably take a more than just overnight, since they're probably gonna be adding more stuff and upping the ante because it was such a hit.

This is true. Due to the success they probably will spend some time plussing it out a bit more.

The day after HalloweenTime, regular Space Mountain reopened. If it can go back to normal overnight, then it shouldn't take long to turn on GG.

It's a pretty quick overlay, right? All they need to do is redo the audio, lights and effects. And once they do it once, it's all archived n how everything should go. They will get faster every year.
