Looks like this thread just turn into the version of Geraldo's Al Capone's vault!
Well at least they made some tweaks to the ride. It can always happen later too.

I'm not really surprised actually about the lack of a new working AA at the end of the ride. I mean, those Imagineers were only given 3 days for installation of the thing which is almost nothing given that it's a brand new special effect that would usually require at least a few to install normally.
I just wish they would shut the whole ride down for at least a month to get the WHOLE ride completely operational with both of the the two last Indy AAs replaced, ALL of the jeeps given their software upgrades, and that damn falling rock effect after the Tunnel of Torment working for the first time in almost 15 years!!!!

One suggestion I can make is to write to Disneyland to try and speed up the process of a refurbishment. Here is their address:

First, there's no reason to be rude or snide in response to my suggestion in writing to Disney.
Second, if Disney were to get enough letters mentioning the ride is starting to "show its age", then funds could potentially be released or reallocated from other projects to help fund a complete overhaul of the attraction.

I think Disney has their own agenda. For most people, IJ is still an incredible ride. Would you rather IJ get a fancy animatronic whereas the funds could be used in areas that need it more?
Disney cannot afford to be shortsighted, they definitely know what needs to be done to it, they just need to spend the funds elsewhere. I think Star Tours 2.0 is far more important then what they would do to Indy. Personally, I wouldn't even have them change it. I would rather them revamp Tommorrowland first

I think in contrast to DCA's Carsland in 2012. Disneyland do a major 4-5 month IJA or HM refurb. Similar to ST2 and Mermaid opening.
After looking at those pictures on the link, I realized, those AAs look nothing like Harrison Ford. I never really noticed that before. That kinda sucks.
I dunno... I doubt the budget for a new Indy animatronic is even close to the amount it would cost to do a new Tomorrowland. We're talking MAJOR approvals required.
I'm sure there's a different budget for smaller fixes & plussing and the Imagineers try to do that wherever and whenever they can. I think it's all about using an X amount of dollars on existing attractions during the year or it's taken away from you. You want the company to see that the budget is needed for updates.
If that money is never touched, Finance will declare that you don't need it and then give it to someone else.

It was said a few times in this thread that people should write to Disneyland about the matter of a refurbishment for Indy, but wasn't it reported by Al that now they shred incoming mail or send it back or something like that due to someone trying to sue Disney for "their" idea of having Soar'in built at EPCOT. I was under the impression disney doesn't read mail like that, or take comments about it at City Hall
I dont know where I read this before, but the AAs was based on Fords model, maybe the guy in the pre-show video. Again, I could be dead wrong, just what I remember reading.
And yeah, Ford didnt want to have anything to do with this. The guy couldnt didnt even want them to use his voice. I'm really not sure what issues he had with this ride. But lack of his voice takes away the experience when the original actors voice is not there. Its also why I dont love the Nemo more ride more, because its obvious its not the original actors from the film.

My boyfriend (JFSebastian) told me why Harrison Ford didn't do it. If I remember correctly it has something to do with Ford not wanting it to be a big deal, just do the recording, no press or anything. But someone who was head of it set up press conferences and interviews. And he said he wasn't going to
do it anymore. I may have it wrong, but that's pretty much what I was told.
But I am happy to see they are at least trying to fix some things here and there.
