Yes, it came as a surprise to me that they did Carnivale of Color for the radio preview audience. It was pretty impressive for what it is.
First, two entertainers in sequined costumes stand on two wooden platforms that are in the Paradise Park planters. They got the audience excited, "Who's seen World of Color before, raise your hand!" etc. At first we thought a light tower was hidden in the platform and we worried it would impact our view, but then it turned out we had a front-and-center view of the entertainer while she danced and sang.
They sing a song.. It has the word "Something" in it repeatedly..something like "Something something something special." Yeah. The crowd didn't really get into it.
Then they asked the audience to shout out their favorite color, and the female entertainer said "I hear a lot of yellow!" at which point they introduced the Lumiere puppet.
The puppets have some elastic 'bounce' to them as the entertainers move, making their mouths move (Mike Wasowski's eye bobs up and down too). All of the puppets are illuminated with LEDs. Lumiere's candles are not actually on fire, but they light up and appear to flicker. The puppets also say some prerecorded things over the loudspeakers that play the music.
There's Sebastian (red), Tigger (orange), Lumiere (yellow), Mike Wasowski (green) and the genie (blue).
Each character is introduced in a similar fashion, they march around the viewing area and each end up in a different spot. I was focused on taking pictures and didn't hear much of what they said, but basically they encouraged the audience to scream really loud and make each area the character stood in light up in their color. So everyone screamed loud for Mike Wasowski, and the lights shining on that section of the viewing area turned green, etc.
Then they sang "Party Gras," and after that paraded back out.
