So recently we've been told that this is an idealized version of California, represented by Disney (hence the Disney California Adventure) so not everything is going to be EXACTLY as it was back then. I don't think they had omnimovers in haunted houses back in the 1800s - or whenever HM takes places - either.

The Doombuggy is merely a conveyance, it's simple and black and fades into the background and is there only out of necessity. The same could be said about the digital nature of TSMM. Having a giant modern ride that everyone knows is a modern ride ruins any level of illusion of being a real place and time, which hopefully PP will eventually create.

Technically speaking, there's never been ghosts, only ghost stories. Just as the ghosts represent the ghost stories of 1860, the "Doom Buggy" omnimover represents your "Ghostly Carriage" and is referred to in period appropriate terms.

While I enjoy the the Maliboomer, it cannot be so easily explained in early 20th century terms. Besides being off-theme, the Maliboomer is also completely off the shelf aside from the annoying scream guards. That's two fairly major strikes against it. I can't wait to see the park after it's removed.
it's a sale of candy and a sale of plush, it's a sale of toys and disney stuff
there's so much that we sell, that it's time we tell, it's a plush plush sale!

Even though it's fun, MaliBoomer has to go because its ugly, and therefore terribly themed and un-Disney-like.

And about the "modern" thing, I guess all the rides should only be rides available in early seaside amusement parks...Bring on the spinners and "off-the-shelfers".Wooh!!!
    How fun would that be?

Disney has no control over the views/location of the convention center. They do have control of what attractions are in the park though
    Trips coming up:

    May 22-26th
    July 13th-18th
    November 19th-25th

Gosh there are a lot of tall rides... It's true that some visual obtrusion should be added to CS, more so than what is there now, but you can't do anything about the other two you mentioned.
But I guess the Maliboomer has it the worst, because it IS possible for the rider to only be able to see either wall, or city, wire, and streets during the Whole ride.

They have control but they didn't use that control. We can see right out of the park. I know Cars Land will fix some of the unsightly views but it won't fix them all.

    It has to leave now!!

    Why?

Why not keep the Maliboomer until the funding is ready for a new ride?

I think you are missing my point: I don't care if the Maliboomer goes, so long as a new ride goes in RIGHT AWAY. It is insane for DCA to remove the Maliboomer before another ride is ready to take its place.

If the Maliboomer must go, wait until the Mermaid ride is open.

    This I agree with.

There's a lot still left to do on Paradise Pier:

    -Screamin' queue
    -Carousel redesign(?)
    -Fun Wheel queue
    -Boardwalk shops
    -Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta
    -Paradise Grill
    -Goofy's Sky School
    -Little Mermaid

Half of those things we KNOW will happen by next year. But the other half? Shrugs. Why not take care of Maliboomer when you got new things for guests to do? Adding more construction walls to add NOTHING is bad show.

And yah, I know a lot of you think Maliboomer IS bad show, but you also forget this is still DCA. It's not the magical amazing theme park yet. It's getting there, but far from it.

I've heard (rumor again) that the Maliboomer would just be replaced with a nice grassy tree area to sit and enjoy. Personally, I don't care to have an attraction in this area as it takes away from Californian Screamin. Why does something HAVE to go in ASAP when Maliboomer goes out. I don't understand that.

Coheteboy, I understand where you're coming from.

You guys are wrong when you think there weren't tower rides in the early 20th century. There were a number of towers and tower rides in early amusement parks.

So if they wanted to keep the ride, adding additional theming would help it dramatically.
